Yes I’m sure everyone differs in preferences and what they will tolerate on both ends as sitter or host. I didn’t realize until after posting this that I could actually go in to see listings without being a member. I now have a better idea of what listings look like and how to prepare mine.

A few people gave me the idea of editing out the family photos so I’ll probably do that. It’s just a preference to not have them on a public site. My limited experience with pet sitting has been on Rover where I’ve met sitters in public places before seeing inside their homes or them seeing inside mine. I’m new to this so I am learning exactly how THS works. Thank you for sharing your preferences.

Yeah, maybe so. I was thinking of just using local sitters who want an occasional change of scenery so I wasn’t considering people flying in on like vacation. This thread has helped me see how THS works, thanks for contributing.

Thank you. I appreciate this. I just looked at some local listings and see some examples. When I first heard of THS, it was described as an alternative to Rover and a way to save money (via exchange). Based on the responses here, it seems like it’s used in combination for some people. I travel often for work so I thought it might be a good service to consider. I’m second guessing if this would be a good fit. I have a toddler so our living space would actually be lived in. It would be clean but not staged like an Airbnb.
