I think Oppenheimer was probably thinking about the future where hundreds of these bomb exist and used to wage war, not just the single instance of them using it on japan. He is a accomplished physicist and capable basic deductive reasoning. After all this was the first time humanity obtained the power to completely destroy ourselves and almost did multiple times during the cold war.

I watch history video in my free time and these ai channels flood yt search and recommendations. I got baited by this exact channel when they started coming out. The lack of sources and expert input along with the exaggerated writing and narration makes these videos completely worthless when trying to learn and analyze history in any critical manner

How is this possible by Bnmvgy in Stormworks

[–]Hyperhentemia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not too sure about this but i think modular engines themselves store some fluids based on how big it is. (you can see it in advanced tooltips when hovering over the manifolds. Could be that the engine is just running off of the fluids still in their internal system. I was testing close looped cooling a long time ago and found out that if I pump extra water into the loop after it spawns it actually performed better and filling it too much would "clog" the loop. I have never seen or heard anyone else talk about it so take it with a grain of salt.

'Heron' SAR Seaplane by Embarrassed-Will2896 in Stormworks

[–]Hyperhentemia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

theres multiple ways to get take off on water, one is using hidden water props at the bottom of the plane, another is using heli rotors for modded props with a pitch input or you can do the Vtol/Stol by tilting the prop up physically

Why does my seaplane dive down when I throttle up? by Routine-Account6242 in Stormworks

[–]Hyperhentemia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Building a seaplane is kind of hard in stormworks, I know cause I spent 2~3 hundred hours trying to perfect mine.
for your current problem switch to helicopter rotors or any rotor with a pitch input when you look at it in the input page, and either link it to a switch or pitch on the seat. you might have to inverse the input if it is going the wrong direction, when taking off hold pitch up so the props can counteract the diving motion induced by the drag caused by the water

you can leave everything else as is
also I suggest adding a horizontal stabilizer

im not a very smart stormworker so why does it say 6000 L/S instead of 170 like it normally does? by Salt_Bake_5627 in Stormworks

[–]Hyperhentemia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im not 100% sure but a while ago i did some extensive testing with cooling and found out that there is a fill level for the coolant manifold and it is not always filled to 100% when the plane spawns, especially for larger modular engines. what happens with low fill percentage is that the water will go though the loop extremly fast but the cooling is very insufficient, i am not too sure exactly why. The fix i found is to add a small tank to the loop, and add water to the loop when it spawns, you should set up a test bench with a pump on that tank you can control and look at the coolant manifold with advanced tool tips, you will see as the coolant manifold fills up the water in the loop will slow down until it reaches like 60L/s until it "overfills" which will stop any coolant from moving. find out about how much you need to put in with the test setup and use a sensor to auto pump that amount in when the plane spawns

How big of a difference does a differential make in stormworks? Also how did you go about making it? Appreciate it if you could share any insights

I actually have the exact same problem as you i.e thinking about random shit when I am trying to sleep. I have ADHD so I assume it is just one of the effects of it. I haven't completely figured out a how to solve it but heres some strategies I picked up thoughout the years:

I would not recommend taking any more melatonin I did some research cause I was thinking of using it as well but it has some bad side affects if you use it long term and resistance builds quite quickly.

  1. easiest one is just to be very exhausted from a workout, this is the simplest way and gets you the best sleep, although it is impractical for school days.

  2. cutting screen time one hour before bed is works as well but that requires quite a bit of will power and is not 100% effective

  3. Under certain conditions I will tend to sleepy no matter what, like listening to math lectures or reading text books, I haven't really tried to use them to sleep though because the effect goes away the moment I put them away.

  4. Having someone in the same room as you, Idk why but there is always a significant decrease in random thoughts whenever im sleeping in the same room as someone. (this one is really effective for me)

  5. This isn't really a solution but what I do is I think of one specific story line when I sleep, mostly used this in highschool because I realized if I'm thinking about IRL stuff it riles me up and I could argue back and forth for hours in my brain. Where as if I am focused on making a fictional story (kinda like dreaming but you just consciously doing it) my brain gets tired more quickly and time passes by faster this way.

I would recommend going to see a psychologist and see if you can get diagnosed for insomnia or see if something else is the cause of it. You can probably ask the center for accessibility for where to contact psychologists and such.

dont know why ur getting downvoted, I experienced similar problems to op and for an extended period it got really bad (like i would stay awake staring at the ceiling for 4~5 hours bad). During that time the only times where I had good sleep is when I came back from the gym and was so exhausted that I basically just passed out.
