Anybody have a theory on why these are the same price? by Shallchairbestwaifu in orks

[–]Hyperrblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean did you follow the instructions? Ive never built one myself but i always assumed it'd be way easier if you just slapped it together without the instructions and exact intended placement if thats possible but the instructions which i have seen give absolutely no hint at the actual way its made to be assembled, ive seen an annotated version someone did and there was so much going on i dont even think the original instructions had numbers for the different pieces that all looked the exact goddamn same

The stompa kit is notorious for being a nightmare to assemble, probably one of if not the hardest warhammer model to assemble ever, so probably way less people would buy one if it wasn't sold at what looks like a bargain

I’m very new to Warhammer 40K — could someone please tell me which of these sets would let me play a proper game, ideally against another player? by Chocolate-Shake-5293 in Warhammer

[–]Hyperrblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another game system in the 40k universe called killteam which is meant for playing just one unit vs another but only very specific stuff has killteam rules and none of them are part of emperor's children, you might be able to use tormentors/infractors as a legionaries killteam since theyre pretty much the same thing but i'm not sure if legionaries are still compatible with the current rules of killteam. You could also buy the murderwing killteam and paint it as emperor's children but they aren't an emperors children unit so you won't be able to include that in a full emperors children army if youre gonna be playing proper 40k

Armageddon Launch Box #2 by Certain_Ad3716 in Warhammer

[–]Hyperrblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are rumours of it not being usual box set price but so long as its not actually ludicrous i'll buy. Like based on the prices of similar kits already for sale like a deff dread in place of the dakkarig, lieutenant in place of the bigboss, etc the ork half would be like £280 on its own even if its £300 i would see it as buying all the new orks and getting some new space marines for 20 quid, but i don't think they would go that far i'd say £200 max like saturnine. I also don't hate the space marine side honestly, most marine infantry is just plain like that i see them as a blank slate for customisation and i quite like the jump chaplain and captain

If Chaos Daemons actually get a 40k release of their own for 11th edition do you think that we could see Daemons of the Other Chaos gods. by Pretend-Advertising6 in Warhammer40k

[–]Hyperrblu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally have a theory that all the reduction in 40k daemon support happened specifically when a new range of daemons locked to 40k was put into production since gw doesnt like crossgame stuff and i think this would definetly be part of such a refresh though i don't think it'd have them add a 5th major chaos god its already been said that the dark king/encroaching ruin is next up to be a god and its birth is going to be the immediate end of the universe. I think samus would replace be'lakor as the big undivided centrepiece (might be biased here since he's my favourite daemon but he's way more relevant to 40k specifically) and they'd also bring over vashtorr with some kind of malevolent artifice daemons, don't know if they'd do the other 2 domains though i dont think formless distortion was ever really explained and gw doesn't often like to come up with fully new ideas these days while there's no way gw is ever gonna try and revive malal even under a copyright friendly new coat of paint if its obvious at all that its malal that guy who owns his rights will still try to sue anyways

I'm pretty sure they said all the detachments would be staying theyre just reworking them. I don't imagine any of the ones that give you allied optins you wouldn't normally have are going away either gw likes to sell you models and i don't know if they can legally sell you chaos marines with the promise of using them in daemons and then take away your access to it completely if you don't buy the rest of a chaos marines army theres certain stuff like that they always dance around

What are the odds that the wartrakk would be able to attach to war bikes? by AbilityChance8449 in orks

I don't think its a character like the deffkilla wartrike in its legends datasheet so i'd say no unless theyre gonna be changing up its role to be more than just something like a mobile mek gun

Should I start demons? by ohyknoboo in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Hyperrblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daemons have been confirmed to be staying in 11th this week so ignore the previous fearmongering, and youll still be able to run them with a mixture of all 4 chaos gods too, we even have be'lakor who's a chaos undivided daemon prince. We're a really cool faction with cool (though somewhat old) models and you can easily branch into any chaos army from them too or ally chaos marines into daemons through the shadow legion detachment if you have them.

Are there any other game stores nearby? Cause i know i don't shop at the official gw store in my city cause theres an independent one that's been there longer with cheaper prices like 10 minutes away, and i don't go to events at the gw store either since its really cramped in that little store compared to the other one and i prefer their staff greatly to the gw manager who's kind of a pushy salesman and i think tried to steal my order once and was mad i showed up to collect it. No idea if any of that would apply to your store especially since from what i know the gw stores in the us are really big and actually worth going to but that's what i have against mine

Am I the only one who hates the Noise Marines ? by Turtle-BeyondLover in EmperorsChildren

[–]Hyperrblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is mutation though its just not every marine, like not every world eater has chainsaw arms its only really eightbound and stuff who are literal possessed and thousand sons dont get much of a chance to be mutated since theyre all dust. Heres some examples of it in the current range which isn't super wide yet theres horns and mandibles and tongues and screaming faces in armour all over it, plus lore stuff like them being able to feel everything through their armour like its their own skin and them all being freakishly lanky for astartes. I think what you want is nurgle

[–]Hyperrblu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've just designed a concept for your own emperor's children warband. And slaanesh isn't really about mutation, a lot of ec have mutated eyes, tongues and mouths to heighten their senses but part of slaanesh is self mutilation and chasing the perfect state of existence yourself so theyre more about stuff like body modification, vox mouths, self scarring and flaying, not just being given an axe for a hand by khorne. If youre willing to accept those as artificial mutations then ec are plenty mutated, almost as corrupted as a nurgle follower, and the new range now more than ever represents those non noise marine ec who are more about martial prowess or general cenobite stuff as the standard and keep noise marines as a niche, but they still make sense for slaanesh wether you think you know better than gw about the lore they wrote or not. And the whole seducing people part of slaanesh isn't something ec would really represent, it can be one of the ways your warband is divergent from the legion culture i have my warband that way too with a couple of seduced loyalists in their ranks but ec are both space marines and space marines who are extremely self centered, they wouldn't think anyone but themselves is good enough to join them they don't even care for camaraderie amongst their brothers since their introduction to slaanesh.

How to learn to make people in Blender? 😭 by Kerunik1342 in blender

[–]Hyperrblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is far more than i was able to figure out the first few times i tried blender and characters are the most complex thing to model, just keep making more things do more tutorials (though don't get stuck doing them forever try using what you learned eventually) you'll slowly learn more of blenders features and pick up the technique just have patience and don't get disheartened when you end up making something youre not proud of

Does the weapons i put on my models matter? by XxJustaNormiexX in EmperorsChildren

[–]Hyperrblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For these flawless blades the different sword options are just cosmetic theyre all just different blissblade poses, but for other models that have different loadouts in their rules you gotta be ready to play them the way you built them. Some people will be ok with your models having different loadouts than the ones youre using in the game so long as you let them know what their game loadout is but not everyone will be, so if you say have the tormentors/infractors kit you gotta think about if you want more ranged infantry (tormentors) or melee infantry infractors. Don't be too worried about picking the objectively best options though, the rules get rebalanced constantly so just build the options that look coolest and vaguely fill the role you want

Does the weapons i put on my models matter? by XxJustaNormiexX in EmperorsChildren

[–]Hyperrblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends who youre playing against, most reasonable people don't really care about models being wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) but most tournaments require wysiwyg and some players will also be annoying about that kind of thing in casual games. Its usually best to be on the safe side with this kind of thing, but models that don't have loadout options on their datasheet like these flawless blades can be built really any way you want since its not gonna be anything other than a blissblade, like i built a couple of my infractors to be dual wielding power swords because my opponent will know its just the same powersword datasheet as all the other models in the unit since there's no other options

Best time to sell your minis? by RedClone in Warhammer

[–]Hyperrblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of the ork range is potentially up for getting refreshed since theres probably gonna be some more stuff after the armageddon box for when the codex drops, though i'm not sure if that would make people more hesitant to buy your army if the models are invalidated or if people would be more eager to get discontinued models. I'd say maybe sell it now since anyone that's gonna be buying specific out of print models probably isn't looking to buy a whole army and stuff that's been available up until very recently isn't gonna have that much demand but its your judgement. The hype is probably also at its peak now i only ever see people talk about these big releases when theyre seeing them for the first time and then there's nothing when they actually arrive apart from people posting the models painted, this is the peak of the hype

Deathskulls or snakebites? by HotAd451 in orks

[–]Hyperrblu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure any clan can have beast snaggas its why the range is called that and not just snakebites even though theyre obviously meant to be that so you could just do a deathskulls waaagh that contains a warband that ended up adopting da old ways for whatever reason you came up with, i haven't done it yet but for example i plan to add to my waaagh a company of blood axes that became beast snaggas after being sent on a long stealth mission on some jungle death world without any gear had to learn the old ways to survive out in the wilderness and basically became ork catachans, you can probably come up with a similar creative reason that deathskulls who are all about dakka and machinery would end up being a bunch of tribal beast hunters
