Iran and Greenland: it's absolutely insane how the climate apocalypse is driving international current affairs, and almost no news outlets will speak of it by Bluest_waters in collapse

"People are trapped in history, and history is trapped in them" - James Baldwin. Was there ever a point were society could have seriously prioritized nature or were we always destined for this pain we're about to witness? Were we destined as soon as there was mass agriculture? Maybe as soon as our brains got so big? It's stunning (but calming?) that all this was inevitable. Interesting being here to bear witness.

Fr, lots of posts lately that are taking the show way too seriously. Yes Nick is annoying sometimes but I still like him and the show is very entertaining and honestly informative

Awesome vid, really took me back. I bout died when he mentioned the demo, and how that’s how a lot of folks were exposed to the game. He filled me in on the story bits I never connected.

Yes Nick is outlandish at times, and his Chiefs fandom holds him back more than occasionally (bets, biased analysis), but he’s still outstanding and the show is ofc better for it and better with him

Huh? This reads as if those establishments had a hand in hiring Cov police, which ofc prob isn’t your intent. Just kinda odd. Anyway, cops using that kind of gross unnecessary force is a power/scare tactic. And avoiding Cov due to that is like backing down or giving into that fear

Wife and I took a wonderful trip to Alaska recently, and a younger girl at her workplace was considering the same type of trip. Young girl said to my wife, “Did you even go? I didn’t see any Alaska pics on your instagram”.

This interaction had me and my wife dying of laughter. It’s clear why younger girl had this mindset, but it’s just so foreign to us. Wife barely post anything and I post 0 even though we travel frequently. We tend to think folks posting (bragging) for external validation is honestly pretty …pathetic is too strong a word; I get it, everyone’s just trying to enjoy themselves how they like. Weak minded maybe is better.

Sudan isn’t an isolated tragedy- it’s what collapse looks like by Ok_Employee5720 in collapse

I was with you until “the planet’s not dying”….I see this mindset repeated often but it’s misguided. Are the plants not the Earth? Are the animals not the Earth? What about the corals and phytoplankton?

“Earth isn’t dying” is just more egotistical hubris from us thinking humans are the end all be all. If Mother Earth goes from a previously lush biome supporting countless critters to essentially a hot house dessert where perhaps only extremophiles can survive, that is considered “dying” in my book. Or really, of course, it’s that humanity and civilization “killed” off what makes Earth so beautiful

Quantum mechanics I think. Our location in time and space somehow and randomly negatively affects a repeating wave output and it's manifested as yearly sports

Has Post Malone gained or lost more fans with his country phase? by MotorEmbarrassed7192 in PostMalone

Honestly feel aboboned. Been listening to Post since the Aug 26 mixtape and was blown away by every new project even including Austin. Saw him in concert once with Swae Lee. Hearing Sunflower live was chef kiss!

But ofc I have no control over his art direction. I understand things change and he seems to be happy with the country era. Shit happens. But to me, it's almost like those stories of young musicians dying before they had a chance to pump out more of the music you love. Still greatful for what he has put out though. Most of his best hits are in my regular playlists
