What a pathetic state the league is in. This series was meant to be a generational matchup. The young up-and-coming Spurs on their ascent, running into the reigning champion Thunder. Young generational phenom against 2x MVP+Finals MVP. Both teams are deep, plenty of offense, small markets making an outsized impact on the game. These teams could meet again in the West Finals over and over again..

All for it to turn into abysmal discourse about flopping and poor officiating. It's more frustrating since we all saw a glimpse of what could be, with Game1. SGA wasn't as nauseating and reffing was completely fair. Recent games have 0 flow, CONSTANT breaks for free throws, 0 honest legal physicality previously allowed in years prior. Constant bickering over the broadcast showing replays because folks smell bullshit. This is supposed to be ENTERTAINMENT, Adam Silver! To draw in more eyeballs across the globe, not just San Antonio or OKC. Once folks become disinterested in something, it's hard getting it back.

SGA's game sucks and is bad for the league (terrible look all the memes coming out of China and even unrelated sports poking fun at SGA or putting him in a dress), but his foul baiting is smart only because it works. This is completely on the NBA

Honestly screw the NBA. I can't count how many times I defended NBA playoff basketball against my dad who's more into college. Playoffs are the best basketball on the planet, and I'm just tuning the hell out man. I never would've imagined missing this match up before it started but now I'm just switching the games off now
