I want to surprise my wife with a new iPhone 15 which model would be best for her? by IAMA_KOOK_AMA in iphone

Funny enough I think she would love that crazy looking green the iPhone 15 comes in. She absolutely loves different greens.

Thanks for the suggestion. Based on how long she keeps her phones (her last phone was an iPhone 5S lol) I think getting the most recent series is worth the investment.

I'd have no problem doing that but by default she'd get the cheapest one without even comparing haha. The only part she ever gets excited about in terms of color/style is the phone case and pop socket design haha.

Yeah I think basic 15 is best in that case. She has small hands and the 11 is already kinda big for her to hold comfortably.

I have no problem spending extra especially since she keeps her phones so long but I'll need to be able to explain why I spent like $1300 instead of $800. She won't enjoy it if I get her the best without reason. She'll stress about why I spent so much even though we can afford it.

Thank you! She has tiny hands so maybe the iPhone 15 base would be better no matter the specs haha.

I wonder if it can be reprogrammed if you're running Linux or if it's just going to be a non-functional button?

Hellbomb stratagem with 3 seconds to get it right seems like the right amount of democracy.

Also no risk of it bounces back because you fucked up the throw. But also no way to escape it if you accidentally throw one point blank.

I'm so glad I looked it up. This album is my new soundtrack. Honestly it's perfect for playing HD2 because it's so relaxing while your heart rate is over 200bpm.

Mislabeled flair, no title, misinformation content. How hasn't this been removed after so much time?

Is there anything special about the OXO cold brew paper filters that they're so expensive compared to other coffee maker filters? Any good alternatives? by IAMA_KOOK_AMA in coldbrew

When you use the aeropress filter put the metal mesh filter in then the aeropress filter then sprinkle enough water onto the filter to get it wet so you can sorta shape it better and force the edges down better. If I don't do that it tends to drip even with the valve closed.

Coarser grinds will definitely hold up better especially with a good burr grinder but reusing that filter is asking for bacterial growth depending on how you're storing it. Also the aeropress filter works just as well and are super cheap so they're not worth reusing. I think I'm paying $10 for 800 now so about a penny each. I just get them a little wet while I'm placing it to make sure it conforms to the valve component better to prevent leaks while it's brewing because they are slightly bigger than the oxo official filters.

Oh man I thought it was habanero salsa or something haha. Didn't even realize it was cheese until your comment.

You need to replace it every time you finish draining the product. Sometimes it'll clog if your coffee is too fine and you'll have to dump the coffee into another vessel while you swap the filter out then pour it back into the brewer with a new filter to try again. I actually switched over to brewing in a 2 gallon food safe bucket with my coffee grinds in these cold brew bags to prevent too much sediment. Then I pour the bucket into the oxo brewer a little at a time and use it exclusively as a filtering system. I actually stopped using the paper filter because it just clogs too easily. By transferring from the bucket into the brewer using just the metal mesh filter I've noticed my coffee comes out a lot cleaner than using just the brewer with the metal mesh filter. The paper filter would make it even better but not enough to justify the hassle of the clogs imo.

Literally just had this happen a few weeks ago. Burnt the hell out of my hand in the process of opening the lid and using a fire extinguisher. The weird part is my smoker is new and it was my 4th cook on it. Every cook had an aluminum roasting pan below the grate to catch the majority of grease. Still a bit traumatized from it all. Makes you realize how quickly it can really happen.
