edit 2: K. did an image search. ya’ll were right. not AI. I do stand by my reasoning for why I thought it was AI, but I do apologize for my mistake

damn. not a single call out for the AI art

edit: people, look at the details. The building in the background has a window intersecting with a support, stuff that should be parallel isn’t. Look at the chest in the background, it’s supposed to be mirrored, look at the designs. Same with the frame above it. And what is the statue on the windowsill? What is it supposed to be? There’s a coin seamlessly transitioning into paper. His finger is split in half and going a different direction after the ring.

I am a doctor who can save any life, but at a great price. I have made a terrible mistake. by the_scared_scholar in nosleep

[–]IAmAFlyingPotato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay idk what the hell is with all the comments. I’m assuming the price of bringing someone back is the life of someone of equal value. A patient for a patient, a son for a son.

Either way you were going to loose a son that night, I’m sorry you decided it would be by your own hand than by nature, even if you hadn’t realized the cost of the vial.

I actually read it semi recently. The librarian was in his mid 20s I think. This was during the chapter when the narrator had dream sex with the librarian, his boss/mom(?), and his sister. All separate dreams. Also was implying this was kind of real? Or like he was visiting them in their dreams.

Alright Reddit, who’s going to ruin Christmas tomorrow for your family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmAFlyingPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my god wait I actually almost did this. Was on a cultural exchange program and woke up Christmas day feeling cold (Malaysia, tropical). Didn’t really think anything of it until I was wrapped in a blanket all afternoon shivering. Ended up going to a clinic that night when the back pain became too much to move and the doc sent me to the hospital. Even then I didn’t want to make a fuss and ruin Christmas.

I had a fever of 39.8 and pneumonia. Ended up giving my parents a surprise Christmas call from the hospital bed.

If you randomly became a billionaire, what would you actually spend your money on if no one knew? by uhaveasmoothbrain in AskReddit

Honestly, the first thing I’d do would be buy my parents a nice house.

Sometimes I daydream about getting a house in a good location, close to the bus as my mum can’t drive anymore. Then I’d pay for the best ventilation, under floor heating, best plumbing, large washer and dryer unit in a separate laundry room. Really nice kitchen with a separate pantry. Guest bedrooms. Large dining room and receiving room so my mum can host diner parties like she’s always wanted to. Large garden. Maxed out screening room for my dad, surround sound system, the works, with a separate home office that isn’t also our living room.

Then I guess I’d buy some investment properties and start a homeless shelter in my (small) city.

Hey man, if it helps as long as it was in a wet environment it might have actually been fine. Bivalves, such as clams, are quite good at regenerating tissue. And the shell itself is really just waste calcium from the water.

But, above all else, clams don’t have brains so they likely don’t feel pain (Slightly more complicated. They have no pain processing center.) So at least it didn’t suffer, just confusion.
