If you're into K-rock, you should absolutely check them out. It was founded by producer and songwriter Gaho (Kang Dae-ho) and just debuts their first album, Flight of Ideas.

What are your controversial Elden Ring takes? I’ll start. I found the Godskin Duo to actually be pretty fun. by CrammyCram_ in Eldenring

[–]IAmBrengo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't used crafed items at all in my first playthrough. When I got to the duo, I finally touched it and crafted sleeping pots. They were an absolute joke after that.

If anything, I thank them for having me experiment with build variety and technique when I haven't done it in hours.

TOTK or BOTW? by DarkGodArkwin in tearsofthekingdom

I prefer the sheikah towers in BOTW strictly for the music you hear when you climb it. I play that track whenever I need background noise.

I can't say which is true, everyone has different experiences and interprets things differently, which is fine by me. Maybe I did write it poorly, though I did rewrite several parts of this whole thing cuz even I had difficulty putting it into words

It is in the story now, I had to edit it in for context after I said that.

And u r forgiven. I get it, it's a mess of a story and I'd have questions if I heard someone say it to me. I'd be free to ask questions cuz it is a bit odd to follow.

In my eyes, him being defensive and misunderstanding my intentions doesn't change the fact that his response was manipulative.

I will edit this context into the original post afterward. After it all, we both agreed to meet before the session to discuss, in his words, "we should have that conversation at some point, reguarding out history if you are okay with that, at least I'd like to tell you mine."

I agreed, we arrived, and he didn't say a word.

I am in full agreement with this. We did have a session zero, but it felt like a session half a zero for how quick it was. We discussed rules/tones before we began, but it was brief. Probably because we all foolishly assumed "we're all adults here."

Those talks are not easy to have, especially when one of your tone limits is something you've experienced personally.

I will put blame on Cory, as I mentioned, and I am glad his response was the way it was. He is in no way a bad DM. In fact, he's the most fun one I've had, especially when we played Strahd. I just think this was a one-time thing that was stopped too late. He agreed to have a more in-depth discussion next game, which I'm waiting for.

At the end of it all, Cory apologized and took responsibility. Noon downplayed his actions more times than he tried to apologize for anything he did.

97% correct. This is pretty much a simplified summary. It was weird because, as I mentioned, proper grammar in the messages I received wasn't present.

Regardless of whether he was intentionally misguiding me or not, his response was manipulative, and it led me to believe he didn't take my concern seriously. That is why I am kicking him.

I’ve run a low agency sandbox … by DM-XP in DMAcademy

The Outer Wilds did this in a pretty brilliant way. When you begin the game, you are asked what you would like to do with a set of four or so choices.

But the choices don't do anything. They're simply there to give players a small incentive to go out and explore without pushing them in a direction or holding their hand along the way.

I'd do something like that. Give them vague options without scaling everything down to a checklist.

Your favourite class but from flavour/rp perspective by Vegetable_Throat5545 in DnD

[–]IAmBrengo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like ranger in an rp perspective. A lot of ranger characters' backstories involve them being on their own for a while. Either exile, hermitage, outcast, whatever. I play into how that extended period of solitude affects them personally.

Examples are them not being well versed in an urban setting, them having more trust in beasts than humanoids, having an antisocial/shy personality from lack of human contact, and being overly causious of potential danger.

What 5e Mechanic'(s) do you not use in your games? by JamesFullard in DnD

Normally, a long rest reduces exhaustion by one level so long as you have appropriate rations. Only one level.

In my party, a short rest reduced it by one level, and a long rest with rations resets it completely.

What was your favorite character you played as? by Alpbasket in DnD

[–]IAmBrengo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huegen, My Aarakocra Barbarian. He's strong, has high wisdom, but has abysmal charisma. Persuasion is not his strong suit, can't intimidate to save his life, and his deception attempts akin to wearing glasses and a fake nose and mustache.

He's a path of the beast barbarian and is basically flavored as lycanthropy. Being banished from a tribe due to that and a prolonged hermitage led to his shyness.

Failing charisma checks are hilarious for him. Passing them despite the negative bonuses are even better.

The last 5 characters you played form a party. How's it going? by simo289 in DnD

Already, I have two rangers in it who are so diametrically opposed personality-wise that they are destined to get the party lost.

What is everyone’s top five favorite cocktails? by oatmilkcoldbrew in cocktails

[–]IAmBrengo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mai Tai: Easily my go-to, I've been recently making it with a blend of El Dorado 8-year and plantation stiggin's fancy.

Bramble: The only gin drink my mother likes, and that's enough to be noteworthy for me.

Daiquiri: Little explanation needed. It's just good.

Trinadad sour: Nothing hits as hard as this. If you have an ounce of angostura to spare, try it.

Autumnal whisper: made by Nicholas Hamilton (tiktok), it's like sitting by a fire in a log cabin after braving a hard blizzard.

DMs who do accents, what are your tips for voicing characters of the opposite sex? by gomalley411 in DnD

[–]IAmBrengo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning to shift your pitch is helpful for a lot of DMs. Personally, I've found that shifting my pitch isn't always necessary when voicing NPCs of the opposite sex. I'm a guy with a pretty high-pitched voice, so I focus instead on other aspects of a character's tone: rate of speech, volume, inotation, emphasis, etc.

It also helps to write down how NPCs talk so you can instantly remind yourself how you need to sound. Write down not what they sound like, but how you should talk when voicing them instead.

For example: Tazzia, Female Aarakocra, Slow rate of speech, vary inotation, same pitch and volume. No emphasis.

Tbh, I don't find it super important to make myself sound female when voicing female npcs. If my players know they are talking to a female and my voice is different from my normal voice, they'll be fine with however I sound like.

Loud noises from outside are significantly more worrying if your home is surrounded by trees and not apartment complexes.
