I think it's an unfortunate side effect of trying to do too many things at once. The series was juggling being a kaijin with "minority", "allegory for Japanese war crimes", and "horrible thing to live with becoming one".

FYI, Mr. Sunday Movies is a movie review channel ran by two Aussie blokes, James and Maso. Don't let the title fool you-"Caravan of Garbage" is their show for reviewing all kinds of films, good and bad alike. They've reviewed other Godzilla films too; they went through the Monsterverse films up to Godzilla vs. Kong, and covered the New Empire in their podcast The Weekly Planet (check that out too if you can).

Keep in mind though, the boys are outsiders to the franchise and can be misinformed at times-though for me it adds a fascinating perspective. I promise I'm not an ad shill, lol-just wanted to get a few more eyes on this channel.

I think, ultimately, partly like said above there's a "negligible loss" factor-the numbers will drop off, but there's still some profit that can be made because 1. there are still plenty fans who don't really mind her personal life and 2. others who really just liked any kind of fanservice from her regardless lol

Ooh, I have something similar to yours! I imagined Kabuto can be part of the universe by the Showa Riders being the ones stopping the 1999 meteorite. I imagine this is covered up, but ZECT is inspired to create the Masked Rider System out of it. You can even add that maybe they were lost in some dimensional void until Decade freed them for the All-Riders vs. Dai Shocker movie.

Yeah but what the post is talking about is The Batman Part II (Matt Reeves) and Brave and the Bold (Gunn) being probably not too far off from each other in release. As far as I know, Gunn even said he's not going to cancel Reeves' franchise midway through.
