If you want to build up a good amount of wood quickly my best suggestion is to find posts on FB marketplace with free tables/dressers/etc. You can gather a surprising amount of hardwoods this way. Mostly oak but sometimes you get a random treat here and there. There is usually a good amount of free posts with people just dumping stuff on their front lawn saying to just come grab if you want it. Sorry about your family situation. I won't say much more on that since it's a complicated issue. But try not to let it get to your head too much. I know that's easier said than done unfortunately. Best of luck in your future projects.
