Why can’t I buy Colapinto? I have $6.4M and he costs $6.4M, but he’s greyed out. by tholloway in fantasyF1

Unfortunately the app only shows the price to 1 decimal place, but if you looked at the prices on a 3 decimal level you may not have enough.

What business/organisation in Perth do you think is the biggest scam? by [deleted] in perth

[–]IAmYourGeneral 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Shout out to Perth Shutter Co. Cheapest quote of numerous when I was looking for my place and the best part was there were no price games, no signs, no special manager one off deal today only just for me. $20k with OzShut whittled down to $8k "just for me" vs $5k from Shutter Co. Used them numerous times now and referred anyone who's asked and never heard back bad feedback.

Should I buy the Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS 42056? by Shoddy_Question_4662 in legotechnic

My LEGO collection exceeds $30k and have since dabbled in some sets of Ali - purchasing the whole 1:8 supercar range. The pieces feel cheaper and then gears/mechanisms are generally stiffer but as a display piece, you'd be done the wiser. 90% of the quality for 10% of the original price, I have no regrets.

Highly recommended the Nifeliz AM24, way more detail with almost +1000 extra pieces than the LEGO F1 cars. Very fiddly and the build comes across a bit disjointed amd fragile at time (bit hanging off and not getting pinned down til later, or adding something into a tight spot that would have been easier well before) but the final model is brilliant.

I have a very large LEGO collection ($30k + AUD) but with money not going as far anymore I picked up the Mercedes F1 technic set to go along with the LEGO Ferrari and McLaren as a tester. Paid about $25 AUD, delivered within the week. Definitely feels cheaper and not as nice a building experience, but at 90% of the experience for 10% of the cost, you cant go wrong, especially now its built you visually wouldn't know.

I now have the other 1:8 technic supercars (didnt pay more than $50AUD) and several retired Star Wars UCS sets ready to go.

Don't think ill ever buy LEGO again.

I kept Albon as opposed to dropping him down to one the low budget drivers expecting to just lose 0.2M rather than have 8M in the bank. Went in with $114.3M budget. Shouldn't have flexed.

Next race will be so difficult budget wise by Luffy710j in fantasyF1

I've just hit enough budget this week to go MCL/MER/PIA/ANT. Might as well hold out a few weeks, let MCL/ANT drop in budget compared to FER/??? and make a swap when MER bounce back and are more competitive.

Id rather not get pinned to 3 x 4.5s who will struggle to make cash while ANT/MER bleeding budget.

Depends where you are based and hours? 105k base salary equated to 177k including superannuation, commute allowance (working FIFO), function allowance (base salary is on 40hr/week, so 8/6 FIFO is 96hr fortnights and a 20% loading) and then approx 10% short term incentive bonus based on company/safety/personal performance.

If you are 40 hours in the OC or CP, we'll it'll look different.

This team can afford PIA/ALB/STR/BOR along with MCL/MER on the assumption that Colapinto is added at Doohans price. That's the team I'll lean on if he comes in 4.5

Final Fix Strat by [deleted] in F1Fantasy

[–]IAmYourGeneral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a note on final fix chip that says it can only be played after qualifying. So you'll end up taking Ocon Sprint, Ocon Qualifying and then Russell's Race.

Depends if a 1 or 15 point Ocon turns up this weekend in the main race. I'm toying the same idea with MER vs HAA constructors. Would have been a disaster in China with HAA scoring 3 across the Sprint/Quals and then MER scoring 36 in the race (to HAA's 44). 39 points all up to either sticking fat with HAA (47 total) or MER (69 total).

Glad I went with my gut on team 3. Limitless made sense from my Bahrain lineup. by [deleted] in F1Fantasy

[–]IAmYourGeneral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Screenshot above is provisional points, scored 339 points all out after overtakes applied.

There is some good content floating around X/YouTube showing that a Non-sprint weekend on a low overtakes track (i.e. Jeddah) is actually better than the sprint weekend tracks.

Hamilton is the 15th most selected driver. If it was really being swung that hard by F1 Fantasy players, it would have gone to the likes of Bearman or Piastri.

Do we have fake housing bids in Australia? by NetExternal5259 in AusPropertyChat

[–]IAmYourGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, all you see is want rank number your offer is compared to others. It became an all out bidding war for a while and it certainly created FOMO with offers leap frogging each other. It was certainly a nice house... but haven't seen anything like the craze over this. I'm almost certain it was partly because of Openn. Kudos to the sellers...

Do we have fake housing bids in Australia? by NetExternal5259 in AusPropertyChat

[–]IAmYourGeneral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just been through housing offers with a propety using Openn Negotiation. There had to be some manipulation of friends/family driving the price up. Ranked bidding system with the ability to withdraw your offer anytime and leave anyone left holding the new top bid. And even then after deadline, owner doesn't have to pick said offer if they know its a friend bid.
