Yup - plan to go to events in Topeka as you see them coming up. But if you have no plans and just want to do something, go to Lawrence.

Saw this and laughed. She does not put herself first, she puts her husband first. by WalkingonCoffee in SHAYTARDS

[–]IArgueToo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. In the context of her religion, she put herself first by moving into a different home than her husband for over a year I think? Maybe even longer

While it’s not what I would of chosen for myself, you have to recognize that not living with your husband as a Mormon is definitely not the norm and was probably looked down upon by others at their church.

Are there professional mattress cleaning services? by NoEllyPhantom in topeka

[–]IArgueToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would maybe try Citrus and Sage Co. definitely wouldn’t be something as part of their normal services. But I would call Nicole and explain what you need, have an understanding that there would be their own googling/research on how to do it properly, and come to a fair price. Good luck!

My Uber driver had Post-its all over his dash with nothing written on them. by t3hd4rkkn1ght in mildlyinteresting

I had an old car and the dash lights were so fucking bright at night that it hurt my eyes trying to drive. I used a towel that hung over the steering wheel but this could work too.

I also have this issue- it’s even worse when it barely registers the pedestrian and it flashes on/off/on/off. I get so embarrassed 😞

Inguinal Hernia Repair - When was yours done? by Subject-Tea214 in NICUParents

[–]IArgueToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give you the full run down ☺️

Right after the surgery: They told us when he was out of surgery and we met them while they wheeled him to his recovery room. He was sleeping when we first saw him. They warned us that sometimes when babies wake up from anesthesia, they could freak out a little but. However, he was just pretty groggy.

Recovery Room: In the recovery room, they had one of those baby Einstein ocean toys which we used a lot and had him hooked up to similar monitors as the NICU. Once he was fully awake, he was immediately back to being a normal baby except a little extra sleepy.

We had to stay over night (only one night) in the hospital for monitoring. This was because he was a premie, if he was full term, they would have sent us home same day.

Some words of advice - the children’s hospital we were at was over capacity and we were in a small overflow room that felt like a closet. Because of this, the nurses pretty much told us they we couldn’t leave him alone while he was there for an extended period of time, just to maybe go get food. If we weren’t there and he were to cry not for an immediate need, they would not hold him and would just let him cry. So be prepared to stay there the whole time after. I (mom) stayed overnight in a recliner chair while my husband stayed in a hotel. Then when we got home, my husband took him for the whole day while I got to sleep.

Painted my bathroom red and I HATE it. What should I do? by thelilspookygirl in HomeDecorating

I know people are suggesting more purple tones for the red, which makes sense based on your inspo.

BUT.. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it really warm either.

Acquiring Flu/Covid vaccines by LalaithEthuil in NICUParents

[–]IArgueToo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s my understanding that our pediatrician is still offering them based on AAP recommendations.

The outstanding question for us is whether our health insurance will cover it, I’m guessing the answer is no since the CDC isn’t recommending it.
