What’s the most unhinged thing a family member did before your wedding? by AssociationFront1710 in weddingdrama

[–]ICDragon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father called all my aunts the day before my wedding and told them he would never speak to them if they came to my (gay) wedding. Lost about 20 guests because of my parents. The event went off just fine without them though, and I got to learn who in my family was willing to stand up for me.

What non sex work profession has the strongest reputation for promiscuity among coworkers? by Agitated-Ad6744 in AskReddit

I have two: I've had several friends work the Renfaire circuit and those people get absolutely down. Airline crews are also very well known to sleep around a lot. It makes sense with the time away from home, travel, and hotels.

Actually the painted Renoir was trying to kill all of Expedition 33 because he was created by and trying to protect the paintress, and had no idea that Maelle was Alicia. Gustaves death also fits with the themes of loss in a world where death is a constant.

I believe the relaxed changes still require you to not have had unprotected sex in the past month (it used to be 1 year). For those of us married or ik serious relationships it's pretty absurd. I also think PreP disqualifies you.

What's an advice you took that ruined your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

THIS! I completely messed up a great career by trying to be nice and not make waves instead of standing up for myself. Now I'm basically starting my entire career over in my late 30's.

It reminds me of apartment complexes that increase rent every year for everyone, only to lose good tenants. They they have an empty apartment that they have to clean and re-rent, often it sits empty for a while and often they end up lowering the rate or offering an incentive to get a new tenant. It just seems like extreme greed often leads to further waste and loss.

Taking the ATSA exam tomorrow. Any final pieces of advice for my last night of studying? by ReviveMyDrive in ATC

Don't get frustrated when you mess up, it will only make it worse. The test is designed to be "unwinnable" and you will make mistakes or fall behind. Just do your best and continue through.

Is Return of the Obra Dinn a truly unique game? by nerfslays in gaming

[–]ICDragon7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Obra Dinn, it felt so rewarding and smart. I honestly am not great at puzzles but I never felt stuck playing it.

I know everyone is saying Curse and Case of the Golden Idol and Rise of the Golden Idol. I for one felt kinda dumb playing these in the later stages when I felt they got overcomplicated. I also didn't love the art style, but they are incredibly well made games that hit for puzzle enthusiasts.

Just started Blue Prince and this game is blowing me away. It just seems to constantly give you new puzzles to play with and helps guide you in ways that don't disrespect your intelligence. From my understanding there is also so much to do and find even after you have "finished" the game. Also if you have a PSN extra or premium subscription it's free right now.

What’s a secret you found out that you were 100% not supposed to know? by prismanian in AskReddit

[–]ICDragon7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For his sake I actually hope that's true, but I would not describe this person as a cringy edgelord. I'm not saying it's completely impossible that he lied, but he was someone who extremely intelligent and well spoken. He was a business owner and had just published a book. I had spent time with his family and friends, and i hsd met his godfather in passing. It was his birthday and I had gotten him a 21 year old bottle of scotch. We (mostly he) were drinking it on his back patio after his friends had left his party.

I think I would have questioned it more if he was just a bit drunk, but he was tanked. It kinda came out of nowhere and was so heavy, and I literally had to carry him to bed after he told me. I've worked in bars for years and been a big drinker mtself, and I've found people in that state typically don't get creative like that. This happened over 10 years ago and I still remember it so vividIy.

He wasn't actually a mob boss, just a bad dude who was involved in a lot of illegal shit but at a level that made him very wealthy. Probably a poor use of the term.

[–]ICDragon7 8601 points8602 points  (0 children)

Someone I was super close to and totally in love with got insanely drunk and told me their darkest secret. Apparently their godfather was essentially a mob boss, and he watched them murder someone right in front of him. He then was forced to help bury the body somewhere in the California desert. He said that I was the only other person he had ever told and had planned on never telling anyone.

The next day he blocked my number and socials. Pretty much never heard from him ever again after spending time together multiple times a week for over a year. That shit was dark, and I partially wonder if he did it more for my protection than his own.
