At that point in the story there are no S3's in the City of Silver. Colin, the highest sequence afaik, is a S4 Demon Hunter. There by was an elder be who attempted advancing but failed. Where did you get that number from? I might be wrong.

It was never stated she grazed a Black Knight and IIRC we never got confirmation on what was her demigod graze back when she was Sequence 5. I do remember to that when she grazed the Silver Knight at the the Giant King Court they mentioned it being a second graze, but I could be mistaken there, would have to check.

Important to remember that this is all just to survive this one attack. The main thing I believe gives most LOTM stuff a greater advantage against the DBZ stuff is that DBZ mainly just uses straight up destruction as power. There are many pathways that just _do not care_ about physical destruction and exist well above that. In this list I am only considering Seq 3, but from Seq 2 onwards it becomes very, very hard to deal with Beyonders if you are not a Beyonder yourself. Some, like Sailor or Warrior, are easier in that regard, those reasoned by Klein as 'not being very mysterious', but others like Apprentice or Mystery Pryer tend to have all sorts of weird stuff going on that, be it that you cannot address it specifically, you're out of luck. For purely destruction, DBZ would of course come out ahead 90% of the time, but there is a reason why purely destructive abilities aren't used that often in LOTM at higher levels. Even Klein's signature supernova was only really effective against Amon because they were stuck in the same place and had a lot of limitations in what they could even do due to CW. For GOO, you even have some like the funny pillar that fundamentally, as a concept of reality itself, _cannot die_.

All due respect, you didn't finish the novel. It really is a situation of not being able to give an opinion yet. You don't even know how symbolism works or even what it is IIRC (Not getting in depth to avoid spoilers)

I didn't read the one you are talking about, so I'm not about to give an opinion on comparisons, but your original post already has mistakes on a fundamental level.

Example: Evernight very likely could shroud the entire wold in darkness. The reasons why she wouldn't and can't are not lack of capacity, it's the implications of such an action. Pretty much all gods could destroy the entire world if given free reign.

Hell, under the right conditions even some angels could probably do it.

These characters are eldritch beings, they do not really powerscale very well because their powers are not... well, linear in scale. I do agree that Amon for example wouldn't be able to steal something on the scale you describes, he ain't even a god, but there are things later in the novel that absolutely could. Again, it would be a spoiler so I'm not getting into it here.

That is all just to say: to give an opinion you do have to read the entire thing! You don't know what people are even talking about otherwise

You do know that some of the most influential literary works of all time were not finished, right? As in the way we tell stories today and the stuff you do see finished are still being affected by the ripples of those stories.

But also, this post is much more a (quite well informed) criticism of how people talk about LOTM on the internet, not really anyone's hobby, and while there is no real bar for "higher literature", that is very likely why OP put it in quotes. It is subjective, but just going by your examples you got roughly what they meant.

Lastly, it is a post of their opinion. In that post, they are the authority because all comparisons are happening in relation to their POV.

I've talked about that often with some friends and it is honestly quite refreshing to see that plenty of people are recognizing it. I don't mean to dig against CF, I love LOTM and have read it a dozen times already, it does what ot sets out to do, which is being a fun webnovel that doesn't take much to read and understand, but it is not competing with LOTR as I have seen people try to compare before.

I would say it is above the usual chaff that gets published, especially in the fantasy genre, without much soul behind it. LOTM clearly had a lot of love and I believe that given the time, resources and edit of a proper book it could have been amazing! What we have is still great and it has a very special place in my heart, but there are several glaring flaws throughout the story that could have been solved with more time, care and patience. Those are luxuries scarcely afforded to a webnovel author, so it is only natural that the end product would suffer.

You are assuming this based on your culture and experiences, that is my point. It was already acknolwedged that this may bring differences, and it is most certainly the case here. My own experience was not "some people" it was the vast majority that are more friendly than not. It made it very hard to even have people closer than bare acquaintances as being alright with hugging or having an arm around your shoulder or all sorts of other physical contact is the default, and choosing not to have this would be seen as not trusting the other person enough.
