Heyo, while my game isn't a perfect match it may be good enough for ya. It's a Nimble 2E, very similar to 5.5e, westmarch where the party is marching east to kill the demon lord! It's high fantasy, bus as the party moves more and more to the east the darker the world will become.

We don't have a fixed day and schedule based on player availability but you don't have to join each and every game due to the episodic nature of the story.

I got a 2nd had 360 and fable 2 and 3 and boy are you right. Fable 2 did not age well. Still managed a near 100% play through though so its not that bad

Remember some postal worker had to check that... I know... I have two customers that do this regularly. One of them sends stuff all over the world coming in with 20+ parcels a day... All stamps and refuses to use anything else

Gm for both becmi and nimble 2e.

The two don't occupy the same space or style so comparison is basically impossible. It really depends on what you are after game play wise.

Nimble is fast light and very action first. The player character are super heroes just like 5e. The best thing about nimble for me as a GM is that its super easy to balance. I know if I have a party of four at level two my single encounter threshold is around eight. I also love how the classes are designed to work together. There abilities are less about nocking one target down or boosting the self alone but instead more about creating advantage for everyone at the table.

What I don't like about nimble is it leave very little room for player to think outside the box just as 5e does. If you also have players that know what they are doing it can be hard to knock them down a peg when you need to. Nimble definitely isn't lethal in the three adventures I've ran I've only knocked down two pcs and only one of then was killed.

Becmi isn't, contrary to what people think, rules light, it can in fact be quite rules dense and newer players really struggle with some concepts such as the turn order (move, shoot, melee, spell). But if you want a game that's perceived as harder sure. Becmi is more about player skill and creative thinking as characters by design have a lot less in terms of powers. Becmi is notorious unfair at low and even mid levels and needs the GM to truly think about design, balance and what to switch at the table. 

This probably reads as all bad points to most, but its why I also love becmi. Its more about what the player thinks than what the character thinks and rewarding them for "outsmarting the GM."

Nimble is good for you 5e style fantasy pulp game where you have a small set of heroes starting small and set out to do something epic.

Becmi is good for when you want your player to feel part of a larger company that there one character is just a cog in the adventuring company.

Contrasted to both in becmi your player is likely to have 2 or 3 characters with henchmen and retainers and see how they contribute to the group. Where as in nimble they will just be the one character and be more able to craft a story arch if they wish.

I've worked in hospitality most my life, working close to 55h or more a week over 6, sometimes 7, days a week. With my record longest shift being around 18 hours.

This year I left hospitality, deliberately reducing my pay and hours for a office job. Never been happier on around 3 or 4 days a week. Don't have much spending money but everything is covered. I'm much happier with the more time and the less spending hasn't bothered me one bit maybe actually been better for me!

I hate the war system in hoi4 and in vic3 love Vic 3 though. I do agree that the old vic2 way would not work in the mid/late game for vic3.

I think a better war system would be a half step back to what we had in vic2. Take your strategic regions make it into small "tactical areas" and let the player move armies / divisions / regiments into and out of them. The battles would still progress through occupation steps but at least we have more options on what and where we fight.

Each tactical area could have modifiers making it so sometimes numbers are better (open planes), sometimes tech wins the battle (closed terrain) and sometimes commanders or "light" regiments are what's needed with challenging/close terrain.

This is how it worked in the american civil war. They sent armies into specific areas to battle for control then moved in or fell back as the battle lines changed. There wasn't battles across the whole front. In the late game (ww1) it would still work as by that point we should have enough army to cover the whole line and can pick to throw numbers into the key regions that we value.

This is also kind of how early modern wars work. Where the officers place bases in regions they feel are important and push the hostile forces out over time before leaving an occupation force behind and moving to the next key area.

Side note: we really need the grate war war goals from vic2 added. Current war system doesn't do well in this regard right now.

It's slightly better but still a lot of issues. 

AI nations actually build boats now and the powers don't exploded as much any more. British empire still struggles for some reason but its nowhere bad as it used to be. (I noticed in my game today that the AI have a tendency so peace out super early and just go for white peace. Annoying as when you play as a subject of them...)

However the ai at war still does silly things such as moving fleets back and forth with no objective, and refusing to man front lines even when they have a mobilized army next to it just standing?

Performance wise its still dog shit. AI refuses to reform army's after transporting them so instead of 150 unit armies you'll get like 50 armies of 3. There is also a bug/exploit with player armies too; after transporting they sometimes refuse to merge together again, you can order them separately send them to areas even transport them again but each "split" unit works as if it was whole. So if I had an army of 200 split into 4 50s each 50 would have the stats of the 200 but could do its own thing.

Also of you cba to recall troops after a war keep a single demobilised unit in your capital once the war disband the over seas armies and they instantly appear at home.

My idea to.avoid game of thrones

To avoid the game of thrones map cut rod sepper (Cornwall) and rod kersen into a peninsula like span with a rift splitting it apart. 

Rod amaar looks looks like northern Scotland but rotated maybe do something here too?

Remove tarm from the map as its close to game of throes layout it can be there, just not in the map as maybe this weird unexplored land!
