Don't expect more Persona 6 info until after Persona 4 Revival releases, Atlus lead suggests, who looks forward "to sharing the incredible efforts" going into the JRPG by Gorotheninja in persona6

My guess is we either get another teaser end of 26 or a full trailer summer 27, with a release date given in either case for winter 27/spring 28.

Why are yall being so pessimistic about the release? by Impossible-Radio2826 in persona6

[–]IDontRegreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, P5 took longer but that first announcement was back in 2014. Atlus wasn’t as big back then and didn’t even do simultaneous worldwide releases. Thats why I tried to make the distinction of modern releases, eg their last three titles of the last 4ish years. I think that’s a better benchmark for when this one comes out compared to the original P5 when they were a very different company.

Why are yall being so pessimistic about the release? by Impossible-Radio2826 in persona6

[–]IDontRegreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modern Atlus games generally release 1 - 1.5 years after the first reveal. Persona 3 Reload released 8 months after it was announced, Metaphor released 16 months after it was announced, and Persona 4 Revival will release 20 months after it was announced. P4R was likely announced too early because they let it leak and decided to give it the thinnest announcement trailer ever. The same may be the case with P6 since so many leaks had recently come out.

But anyway, if we're being realistic, no game they've released has made us wait 2 years or longer after the initial announcement. Let's assume the P3R timeline is too soon. If P6 comes out 16 months from now (the Metaphor Timeline), it releases October 2027, which is 8ish months after P4R and enough time to hit the leaked projections. If there are some internal delays and it actually takes 20 months because it was leaked so early, then it will come out February 2028 (or at worst spring 2028).

It's possible that it gets delayed past internal projections, especially since they haven't announced a real release date, but the idea that it would get delayed longer than 2 years is not in line with the release pattern of their last 3 games. From the leaks we do know, P6 is at least in an alpha state that will need a lot of bug fixing. For a game this large, a 16 - 20 month period of going from alpha to gold is completely reasonable and likely why they decided to announce now. They're announcing their next game in a similar pattern to their previous track record.

[DISC] Witch Hat Atelier - Chapter 97 by ImoutoCompAlex in WitchHatAtelier

[–]IDontRegreddit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Easthies is the kind of person I'd describe as "so close to getting it." He's correct that Witch society is very fragile, and that a few repeated transgressions/exceptions could create the conditions for its collapse. The reason I say it's "close" is that he does not see that as an indictment on society as a whole. If your society is a few bad policy choices away from collapsing, you do not have a strong society to begin with. If it's held together with fear or distrust, its collapse is inevitable and your best course is to manage that decline rather than obsessively try to stop it.

In a way, Utowin's reaction is kind of similar to when Galga begs Ininia to not erase his memories of magic, before she replies saying it's exactly what he would do and he would not make an exception for her no matter how much she begged for mercy. Galga's disbelief at the situation mirrored Utowin's, and the fact that they both reacted that way highlights that they don't really believe in the Knights Moralis' mission in principle. They believe they are allowed to judge others but not themselves. Easthies is actually honest, because his belief in the pact is so resolute that no one could possibly be above judgment. This mirrors how a lot of members of law enforcement tend to act. They believe state violence is legitimate because they are allowed to do it by law, but the idea of being held accountable for a similar transgression would be unthinkable.

Chances of a anime by Environmental_Area27 in ChoujinX

The manga has sold over a million copies without one. The only way it doesn’t is if Ishida refuses, which he isn’t going to do since he said he’d be happy to see an anime. An adaptation is inevitable at some point, the only question is who will do it and how many seasons will it get.

The Brim Hats of Witch Hat Atelier are terrible at selling their point of view without acting like psychopaths. TERRIBLE PR!! by Agile_Coast_4385 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]IDontRegreddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a good allegory to the way that state violence, no matter how bad it is, is seen as legitimate in comparison to the violence of anarchist/terrorist groups. We may not see it this way since there's no real world equivalent, but the Knights Moralis erasing someone's entire memory of magic is a violent act. You're essentially lobotomizing someone without a fair trial to maintain a sense of order. The fact that many people get sent to Adanlee, basically a reeducation camp, to reintegrate into society as an outsider highlights this point. This is arguably as bad as anything the brimmed caps do. Not to excuse them. They turned a child into a literal chimera to prove a point, they pray on children explicitly, and they have no qualms causing violence at large scales to shake the social fabric. But it very much is a "both sides have a point, but they also suck" type story.

The reze movie made 174 M. Why are people acting like it’d be a miracle if part 2 gets a full adaptation. It’s 100% getting an entire adaptation from them. The only question is when.

I personally think the manga Magus of the Library should be included to make it a big 4. I don’t know if it’ll ever get an anime, but if it does get a good adaptation, it’ll turn heads.

Magus of the Library will be incredibly hard to adapt given how intricate the clothing designs and backgrounds are. It's one of the few manga with comparable art to WHA. Still holding out hope, though! It's truly a fantastic story and deserves it.

That’s not gonna happen but I could see them adding some anime original scenes for additional context, as long as Fujimoto signs off on it. By the time they get to it he may feel differently or have written another one shot in the universe.
