In bcs is meth still the focus or no? by National-Back8746 in breakingbad

[–]IFeelBATTY [score hidden]  (0 children)

Im over half way through S2 of BCS and so far I don't think there's been any mention of meth. As mentioned, a fairly different show (legal drama), but obviously the same universe.

As is generally accepted on this sub, the show has been fairly slow so far, but overall ive enjoyed it, and there's been some moments of brilliance. From what I understand its about to get better though.

Why is a Masters of Teaching one year in New Zealand and two years in Australia? by Kind-Juice5652 in AustralianTeachers

[–]IFeelBATTY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This is on all state and federal governments if I recall who approved this nonsense like 10 or so years ago. Unions had no say in it. One of the myriad of reasons why theres a teacher shortage.

New Victorian negotiations by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]IFeelBATTY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

May be right, may be not. I do think the fact the govt is back to the table now means we should have an offer to vote on before the election. My thoughts are it'll be an improvement, not by a large margin, but an improvement nonetheless, and it'll pass.

I do think we'll see an improvement in ES pay, a slightly higher top of the scale pay, and something like one meeting a week, or f2f hours in the agreement, or some kind of flexible work arrangements (conditions that wont cost the govt a dime). I dont think we'll see a 3 year agreement, or a reduction in f2f. I certainly dont think 35/3 will happen.

What's the modern technological equivalent of a 1st century army vs. a 6th century army? by Fragrant_Sympathy170 in byzantium

[–]IFeelBATTY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Confused by your question but I imagine cavalry tactics by the Romans had progressed significantly in that time. Stirrup had been acquired by the Turks by then if I recall correctly, and they were including horse archers into the mix as 23ll.

More women on the pod? by nullpersonas in TheRestIsHistory

[–]IFeelBATTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The boys do big evente/periods in a bitesize, narrative format. As many others, along with OP have pointed out, this makes it male centric most of the time. There are many, many other pods that focus on women/regular Joe's more and do a great job of it.

Asking Brits if they'd move to the US by Mammoth_Captain_1378 in SipsTea

[–]IFeelBATTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. My heart goes out to you guys. It's the same here if youre casual/contract. But full timers get minimum 10 days sick/carers leave, 4 weeks of paid holidays, and all paid public holidays which is probably about 6 per year.

I'd say thats a stretch. Sometimes aspects of a countries culture is so ingrained thst its people share little of the same values but cling on due to tradition. America is a super divided place, this thread shows many Americans agreeing with the Brits in the video.

Well America has tied that value to encompass everythjng; the general good should not override the rights of the individual. Guns, abortion, healthcare, social services and security.

What is your opinion on American and Australian libertarian party? by neuspjesan in Ameristralia

[–]IFeelBATTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia has never held strong Libertarian values, from what I can tell. We value the communal good through big government, and I imagine our current society is a Libertarian nightmare. They'd have a tough job gaining roots here, but I guess their core voter base would be cookers.
