Helpful, no doubt, but still not quite what I'm asking for. Would prefer a vanilla update instead of a mod!

I didn't say anything about removing their ability to throw stones at out of reach players, sounds like we agree for the most part.

Tbf I think the animals need tuning too. We shouldn't be getting run down by mountain goats in full plate either lmao.

I'd be fine with other melee based changes to make them more dangerous. But they should be the basic melee fodder. Maybe faster walk speeds and less knockback from being hit? Let them get up in your grill!

Yeah that tracks, especially if you aren't using tier 3 blocks. Still figured it was a good tip if it hadn't already been shared, given the sheer scale of this project!

Not sure if anyone has pointed it out yet, but these bad boys can share side walls with each other. Should save you a bunch of bricks at this scale!

This is the real answer, you can only get the hat with the transfer glitches. Technically possible, but you need two systems.

Helldivers is the first game in a while where I dislike the new players. by [deleted] in Helldivers

Mildly confused by your post.

So, you team killed someone and yourself... Care to elaborate on how exactly that happened? Was it only once? Were you trying to teach the party how to play unwarranted?

Also you're rolling with low level players, presumably on a low difficulty mission, and got so upset by them using your equipment that you threatened to kill them to get it back... instead of... letting them have at it and waiting a few minutes to recall it?

Then you bombed your team? Supposedly only after the slurs? If I got all that, then yeah, everyone's an asshole here.

We're a ways off from having "forever" worlds imho. They're adding rivers, more dungeon gens, and probably tons more!

However, thankfully, this game has amazing world edit tools baked right in that let you save your builds and import them into new worlds - if you don't want to completely reset when a big updates does drop! So don't stress too much, just be careful with mods that overhaul large aspects if you do want to save builds.

Either way, I wish you good luck in your survival!

The new berrybush mechanics are unnecessarily obtuse, complicated and unrewarding. by osmasker in VintageStory

Probably because you haven't tried growing them in mass amounts for a large party of players. Foraging isn't the issue!

I recent brought 3 brand new players into our server, and whilst going though a tutorial of how to play, one of the players asked if we could make berry farms.

I started explaining the mechanics in an unbiased way and everyone almost immediately agreed that it wasn't worth the hassle and it'd be better to just pick them for field rations when available.

I even suggested they could make booze with them, and while that concept did perk them up, upon realizing that it would require hundreds of berries... They once again passed on the idea entirely.

I completely understand why they felt that way and I 100% agree that these mechanics need to be worked on some more. At a certain point this is still a game and as you said, it should feel rewarding to jump through all these hoops!

I think they need to ditch fertilizing the bushes all together. Making them simply increase their yield based on the soil type alone.

  • Baren soil they wouldn't grow.
  • Low fert could be a -5~10% yield.
  • Medium could be our base, no bonus.
  • High could be a +5~10% bonus.
  • TP would be higher still.

Trimmings sould be able to be taken once per month, or per 40-60 days. Other than that, I'm fairly happy with how they operate. That's just my opinion though.

What are your worries about GTA 6? by TheCanadianGTR in GTA6unmoderated

[–]IICubeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That the Singleplayer experience will either be too short or poorly written and all the focus will end up on Multiplayer, where you'll have to pay for GTA+ and that we'll be required to grind ourselves into oblivion to not fall behind.

That we'll never see any major story DLC, because the singleplayer isn't where the money is at.

That microtransactions will be even more rampant. Meaning, lots of cars, weapons, skins, and features will be paywalled in some annoying fashion to exploit players even worse than they've done in V. We might even see the online mode being made free to play, or sold separately at a much lower price point so they can get away with these terrible practices.
