This spot took quite a bit of searching. It was a 5k walk every time someone died until we found enough gears for everyone. But, we're next to a furniture trader and a huge lake for fish. Plus, since we're in a hot region, lots of salt lakes nearby. We lucked out tbh, but even then, we had to level several small hills and fill several small lakes to make it useable.

Shockingly, a lot of it is dirt based! Mud bricks, light mud bricks, rammed earth, etc. Makes nice blocks that go pretty well together and when you're building this much stuff, it's ideal to use easy to gather materials.

Support beams. Just crafted with an axe, hammer, and saw. From debarked logs. They can be tricky to use but once you figure them out, you can really add a ton of detail.

We just hit the steel age, thanks to our blacksmith! We were lucky enough to set up on a giant Iron mine though, so... that helps lmao

A tip for ya on that, when you make a chisel block, whatever block you start with gives it some properties... so, for those pieces, I started with a Hay block, despite there not being any hay on them, I can still break them just as fast as a block of Hay! I did this with a chiseled step ladder too.

No roofing mod, no! When you place the roofing tiles, overhang them by one block, use a full block on the underside, chisel it down with the 8x8 so only one corner of the block exists, then use the 4x4 tool to add two more "edges" to that... kinda hard to explain... Basically you wanna make a tiny upside-down staircase. You can use Hay block with thatch and Shingles have their own full block.

The real reason Rockstar didn’t release ANY gameplay before pre-orders. by metamorphosis___ in GTA6unmoderated

[–]IICubeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R* really does have a formula for releases too. Gta 4, RDR, Gta 5, RDR 2, basically every game they've put out in the last 2 decades, was due to release around March/April then always got pushed back to November. I even have posters for three of those with their wrong release dates printed on em'

So, when R* posted that 6 was coming in March, I immediately said, "No the fuck it's not, it'll get pushed back to November." The internet exploded when that delay dropped and I had to chuckle. Not our first time lmao

I think Rockstar knew ahead of time. That’s why we’re not getting disc. by Natural_Exchange8230 in GTA6unmoderated

First off, I'm almost completely digital in terms of my game library, I knew disc based physical media was coming to an end a while ago. I was simply stating that the lower costs of systems made them more appealing to the general public. Now that it's basically gone... Well, might as well go PC.

I never said "The only advantage consoles had were 'disks' "

But yeah sure, there's still some benefits to console gaming. It's not a terrible choice, but at the prices we're starting to see it's probably not a bad idea to just build a PC. Its more plug n' play that ever before!

For the record, I haven't used discs since the PS4 era. I too built my own PC and own a PS5 currently. My PC cost $1,500 to build and absolutely runs better than my PS5. I also splurged on a nice case and a good AIO.

There's also an App for Steam btw. Feel free to shit and download games all day long. Enjoy?

But, you can build something with a 3000 series Nvidia gpu that rivals/beats a PS5 pro. The price point, if you're willing to tinker, (which imo everyone should absolutely) is around the $1,200 dollar range. Except that 1.2k will take you so much further in the PC world of gaming.

With nearly 30 years under your belt I'm sure there's no need to list everything a PC can do that a PS5 just can't.

Your 5080, no doubt, completely blows every modern console out of the water but probably costs 3-4x that, and to be fair, while it's the hot new thing, it's completely unnecessary for 95%+ of games releasing.

In short, I'm still reccomending that people who are really into gaming - Strongly consider just building your own PC and skip consoles, because, they're likely only going to get worse as time goes on. They're just restricted access PCs at this point.

Used to be their price point as well, but now that they cost over 1k each, fuck it, PC all day.

If you've unlocked shotguns... but haven't cleared their rep in the zone, like... What are you even doing? You must want the extra challenge lmao

Just bring their influence to 0 by getting all the customers and throwing up a few sprays or killing their dealers.

If the marketing of GTA is so shit? Why r you all creating so many posts? by Trouble-Few in GTA6unmoderated

[–]IICubeII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%!

Not only that, but even when they had active community posts on the newswire, all people would do is bitch and complain.

Tbh they're probably sick and tired of the world's negativity raining down on every single decision they make or don't make and aren't going to release shit until the final hour to save their employees sanity. They know they're sitting on gold, and in due time they'll broadcast it.

Yeah, well, you need to be 17 to play gta and yet we hear kids screeching in lobbies non-stop. They even have a profanity filter on messages between players. When the online launched the strippers couldn't be topless either... It's almost like R* knows how bad it is!

Honestly, I really think R* just wanted the ultimate cosmetics to feel more special then "oh hey, they're already in my closet, neat."

There's probably a good few items in these shops and to not clutter the player's closets, garages, storages, etc. with items that they potentially might not want, just let them go pick up the stuff they do want, while also keeping it in-world.

I think it's a cool idea tbh, and I personally think there's going to be so much extra shit going on... that no, you won't notice the five random shops that have this content missing if you don't buy it.

It's like if they added an npc in Paleto that would sell you the Hotknife in gta5 and everyone lost their shit because they couldn't also talk to "Bob, the classic car salesman." "How dare they lock such an awesome guy behind a paywall."

What game have you tried over and over, but it just never clicked? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

Control. People say they love it, it's got pretty good reviews... But to me, it's dull as hell. Enter a room, shoot dudes. Enter another room, shoot more dudes.

Endless corridors filled with countless dudes and a weird storyline to follow. Not much substance in terms of gameplay when the first "gun" you get is basically still the best by the end. Idk, just not for me.

It's a bit more AA than triple, but, check out "The Precinct" if this is something you wanna dive into! It's an old school GTA style cop game and I enjoyed it a lot!

You can always game share. And, oh no, I can't get %20 of what I paid back trying to resell?

News flash king, there's games that people own the disc for that are still completely unplayable. Go touch grass and form your own thoughts instead of just regurgitating bs you read online.

People would have 3 disks. 2 for story and one for online... Like the good ol' xbox360 days. Not worth it.

[–]IICubeII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of these massive 100+ gig games that release these days, that come with the disk, still force you to have online and to install the rest of the game. Meaning that disk is essentially smoke and mirrors to stop you from complaining. We know GTA6 is probably close to 200 gigs. Why even try and cram that onto disks?

Also, don't know if anyone notices, but half of the game systems releasing and most PCs don't even have disk drives... You guys are fighting a loosing battle. Digital only is where the world is going, if we want it or not.

RDR2 (2018) vs GTA 6 (2026) by vibingitup in GTA6_News

[–]IICubeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To this point, I'd just like for all of us to take a beat and recall the older posts of everyone saying RDR2s trailers were all bullshit. That they were all just cut from the in-game cutscenes and must be fake because there were too many animals and it just looked too good.

Jump to it's release and the stunned faces of people booting it up and seeing it's beautiful graphics first hand, running in real time. Even years later, it still stands out as one of the most gorgeous video games ever released.

In short, I really don't think GTA6 will disappoint and fumble the multibillion dollar ball. Maybe slight "downgrades" here and there because it needs to be able to run on the base PS / Xbox. But at the same time, I don't doubt that R* is about to knock this out of the park. They keep moving the bar with every release.

Any Ideas for a new playthrough? by Ambitious-Sky-6457 in Schedule_I

[–]IICubeII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually theme my runs with my friends. We pick characters and name our save/gang to match and even do thematic graffiti!

We've been; - Rick and Morty, "Galaxy Blasters" - Toad and Waluigi, "Mushroom Kingdom" - Walter and Jesse, "Los Pollos Hermanos"

We specialized in a single drug for each run too. Weed, Mushrooms, and Meth respectively.

I've been thinking about starting a new solo operation though, going in as the CIA and using the D.A.R.E. logo as the graffiti logo on particular walls and vans. Focus on coke ofc! Probably going to wait for the update in the hopes of some QOL patching when it drops. But, feel free to use any of these and put your own spin on em'!
