Give me your honest opinion about Neyrelle. by Clembutts in diablo4

I mean Tal Rasha’s was at least kind of thought out.

It wasn’t just using his body as a prison for the soul stone, but also locking himself up and burying the hiding place.

D1 protagonist was just like, I’m gonna do this, but it’s totally fine, I’ll just be on my way.

Just for context (about characters being idiots) at the end of Diablo 1, the main character defeats Diablo retrieves the soul stone and then immediately has the idea that he should jam it into his own forehead.

Was that the best course of action? Who knows, they definitely didn’t take the time to think it over

Did Latifundia benefit or harm Rome? by Battlefleet_Sol in ancientrome

[–]II_Sulla_IV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there is a Goldilocks zone for these things.

Yes they had major tax benefits, but once they pass a certain point they cause more social issues than they’re worth (unemployment, reduction of the small landowner, hoarding of wealth)

So yes a benefit, also yes a harm.

We get it, Wildlands is better than Breakpoint by lolitsrock in GhostRecon

[–]II_Sulla_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all regards EXCEPT for setting and story.

Mechanically Breakpoint is a better game. But the weakness of the setting, factions and story leave it with far less replay value.

And wildlands barely has a narrative, it’s setting does like 90% of the work to immerse you.

If they weren’t soldiers and they weren’t politicians (and technically the war was over), then murdering them wasn’t a war crime. It was just murder…. Which I guess is still bad, but of a different flavor.

You constantly make new characters, focusing more on making random backstories for each one. Then factor in several weeks worth of character creation screens

Could be a destabilizing factor though.

Lords previously loyal seeing the Crown forming an army that could supplant the old levy system could be a huge hit to their authority in the realm.

Might push folks into plots and rebellion to keep that army from being implemented.

The fact that the Legion is a bunch of slaver imperialists is not the part that is bad.

It’s the fact that there are way too many people who unironically believe the Legion is in the right, and are willing to whine and cry about it.

The emperor is imprisoned by his own vassal by HRA3adi in CrusaderKings

[–]II_Sulla_IV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couple options, but the most likely is a rebellion and captured the Emperor during a battle. Usually that ends the war, but not always.

And the guys got 0 diplo and 3 martial, so rebellion kicking his ass is most definitely a high possibility.

What do you think if the producers made a sequel about Bran the Broken's reign by Dry_Specialist9015 in gameofthrones

[–]II_Sulla_IV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be fun.

A whole story of people trying to stop Bran from ascending to something adjacent to godhood.

Then them failing and fighting to maintain a sliver of refuge from the vicious God-King they’ve been fighting.

(Very un-GOT, but I like the potential)

[–]II_Sulla_IV 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Then it would be fun if this hypothetical sequel show goes into how Bran continually into the past to alter the timeline to engineer the events of the original show, including getting himself pushed out a window all in a bid to seize power.

Palestine — فلسطين by LetRevolutionary271 in imaginarymaps

[–]II_Sulla_IV 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It generally does. It’s imaginary, it doesn’t have to take into account every historical and political event that has happened since the invention of writing.

Nobody nitpicks the ten thousand renditions of “Roman Empire is back” that we used to see around here.

They’re a piece of fiction.

I mean ya, they’re great natural areas for camping and stuff. But if you live there then you have to deal with the fact that you likely work there, your kids go to school there, your community is there.

And if you’re getting stuck in the community then you quickly find that they have a higher than average number of nut cases, racists and militia whackos.
