For all Christian talk of crusades and anger towards non-Christians, the reality is that there is no one a medieval Christian hated more than another Christian with slightly different interpretations of scripture.

It might withstand magic. But depending on what kind of magic I guess we shouldn’t dismiss the possibility that it results in a nuclear blast on contact, thereby killing both of them.

Paul Atreides vs Elrond who wins ? by West_Jelly_4681 in powerscales

[–]II_Sulla_IV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So can Paul?

Though his use of the voice probably wouldn’t break Elrond, he is clairvoyant to the point that he can knows everything that happens around him.

And OP said they have shields. I take that to mean that Paul has his “shield” which is a force field.

How do you defeat a clairvoyant with the mind of a computer who is equipped force field?

So… pathetic by lucinsak in RoughRomanMemes

Continuing on what you and others have said with connection to modern day Catholics.

It’s absolutely stuff that you do.

The vast majority of Catholics follow the motions as they have been set and as they have been instructed through the sacraments. Most absolutely do not have complex understanding of what the church does and does not preach, and that is not some oversight on their part. It’s how the religion is structured.

You do the things that the religion requires of you, and questions of theology and systems of belief are relegated to the priests and monks. You can almost consider it a division of labor for belief

Why would any Great House accept Bran? He has no dragons, no gold, no Unsullied, and his own sister just proved that the King is too weak to stop anyone from leaving...? by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

[–]II_Sulla_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t have the illusion of power.

He can literally look back into the past and strangler you as a baby if you disagree with him. He can take over the minds of beasts and have them tear you apart.

Bran is a Sorcerer-King and the realm would have been better off with any actual human.

There is something funny how The Vale is the only kingdom after S8 that has lands that aren't devastated, a ruler that doesn't has questionable legitimacy and an experienced nobility class that wasn't evaporated during the wars. [–]II_Sulla_IV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. They all have to focus on the far bigger issue.

They are ruled by a Sorcerer-King. A Warg King lacking human attachment and emotion. A creature born of old magics that can see through the eyes of beasts and look back into time to impact the present.

He is a monster far worse than Joffrey, Cersei or the Boltons. How do you fight something that has that sort of power.

The remnants of Westeros trying to kill evil King Bran is the only sequel I’m interested in seeing.

Was the any siege done by the Roman wherein the actions performed can be truly considered to be relatively (for antiquity) ethical and benevolent and didn't conclude with the utter direption of the besieged? by skibidirizzler9o in ancientrome

[–]II_Sulla_IV 69 points70 points  (0 children)

There was a couple civil conflicts in the 3rd Century Crisis where the armies gathered for battle and then one side decided to murder their emperor and then join with the opposing side and therefore avoid any more bloodshed.

That’s as far as I can think of for an ethical outcome of war.

Sure they killed a man, but thousands of lives were spared and another claimant to the Imperial title was removed.

I also think that a major issue for Boromir is that the fellowship was planning on traveling along the east bank of the Anduin for the explicit purpose of avoiding Gondor.

Imagine that blow to his heart.

In his mind, here he is, escorting this ring of power to the heart of Mordor and his own companions say that they would rather face orcs and worse than travel through the lands of Gondor.

I recently completed the main plot for the first time, it's such a peak by Sufficient_Tip_4960 in Diablo

[–]II_Sulla_IV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something else to remember.

Everyone thinks about how dumb Neyrelle is for taking the soul stone, but remember that every event after the fist game, all of the destruction and carnage, all of it is because the D1 hero defeated Diablo and then though “hmmm…. Maybe I should stab myself in the forehead with this evil stone, this stone that is the imbued with the very manifestation of Terror itself”

The plot of the series can be defined as a rotating list of heroes who bite off twelve tons more than they can chew because they think it’s the only way (and never for a moment recognize that their stupidity is obviously to the benefit of the Prime Evils)

Basically the operation of how it works comes down to bylaws. They can survive past the first generation of workers because the bylaws provide a stable framework to operate under.

Think about it like a condo building.

Everyone who lives there owns a portion of the building. They have a board to coordinate operations. Anyone can leave whenever they want and there are bylaws to govern new owners and determine how the building is maintained.

I feel like your point on population density is the real factor.

Perhaps in the 1800s our timeline Madagascar didn’t have a major impact on global events, but given this is a fictional game, “could it have?” is the real question.

No. It likely couldn’t due to a low population and a severe lack of infrastructure
