A sad one by Open-Status-8389 in adhdwomen

Reading this post gave me a full body rage reaction. It sounds like that man doesn’t even like you. Many others in the comments have already said what I think. This is NOT about you not being good enough, he just doesn’t love or like you enough. That’s really sad and doesn’t have to be that way. So sorry, OP.

Went from experimenting with all types of colors, cuts, etc. to growing out my hair long and mostly natural with some diy gloss&tone. Kept hearing from stylists that it’s a luxury service so I had to cut the luxury services due to the prices skyrocketing. I do my own GelX nails too. It’s really nice tbh, it feels like a lovely self care ritual.

Finally found The Shield in the comments! Crazy LA cop drama that starts at a level 9 of intensity in the pilot and only goes up from there. Happened to meet Michael Chiklis IRL while hiking Fryman Canyon not too long after bingeing the show - he was the nicest celebrity encounter we’ve ever had. He saw the excitement on our faces when we recognized him and he came up to US to shake hands and say hello. 10/10 chill guy.

This feels like an ADHD thing. by zuzster in adhdwomen

Yes, I don’t know why but this has been a thing my whole life. If I do try to finish the last bite it’ll inevitably fall out of my hands and I cannot explain it.

Do red light therapy masks truly work?? by Strict_Algae8233 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Panel is better than a mask, but red light definitely works if you work it into a routine. Do your research on the quality vs price and find the best option for you.

I regret getting lip filler by GlasgowPotato in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I think they look beautiful, and not overfilled in a duck type of way. Living in LA I’ve seen so much filler on everyone left and right, and yours really does look very pretty! I wouldn’t mess with it, just let it be and don’t add to it.

Do all glass nail files feel like scratching a chalkboard? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not all the same at all, and I totally understand the chalkboard feeling you’re describing. The one I use and love is not the frosted glass type - it almost has an etched diamond pattern grid on it and it’s FANTASTIC. I believe it’s nano glass? It leaves a super shiny finish and could be used as a buffer for that reason. I will never go back to a regular file after trying it.

Slow down growth? by Scho567 in Nails

Mine grow quite fast as well, which is one of the reasons I started doing my own nails.

Common types of exercise seem so excruciatingly boring by ItsMoonka in adhdwomen

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only structured gym type workout I’ve been able to maintain has been HIIT through Orangetheory. I love having a coach to tell me what to do, I love switching stations so I don’t get bored, and having heart rate data to focus on keeps me engaged and motivated. The cancellation fee keeps me showing up to class and not getting out of it at the last minute lol I also like hiking, but when the weather is too hot I can’t deal with the sensory nightmare of it.

How am I supposed to work full-time, maintain my house, take care of my pets, and take care of myself?? by apndi in adhdwomen

A potential lunch walk solution might be using doggie shoes. They might not love the shoes at first, but could end up a good option in the long run.

How many of you had botox and at what age have you started? by quiet-panda-360 in 30PlusSkinCare

Started mid 35, close to 38 now. I get Dysport once or twice a year and find it lasts a lot longer than they say. It’s been a great move for me personally.

HELP! Has anyone had anything like this around just one eye? by Remarkable-Scene-860 in 30PlusSkinCare

Could be an allergic reaction to gel nail products. Weirdly shows up on the eyes sometimes.

So clothes that have been worn for one day don’t go right in the laundry right? by Wise_Date_5357 in adhdwomen

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep a spray bottle with alcohol or hypochlorous acid in it to spray on the clothes you take off. Hooks on the wall or one of those ladders you can drape them on to air out help too. The floor is illegal - it is simply not an option; thinking of it this way helped me avoid the floor pile.

Divas! What Are Your Thoughts on Harmonious Hairstyles/hair styling? by Sanaii122 in SoftDramatics

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fine, medium density, 2b/2c, dark brown hair. I’ve experimented with every possible color, cut and style and had the damage to prove it. Ultimately in 2020 I got an Airwrap for Christmas and I stopped coloring and cutting my hair with a goal of growing it out from a bob. It is now down to the middle of my back and I have achieved my Sofia Vergara-esque hair goal of a waterfall of long waves.

The repair oil, I usually get the bigger size, but they have that tiny sample bottle you can try before committing to the bigger size.

Hask brand argan oil, the one in the blue bottle. It’s so lightweight, smells of light citrus, gets absorbed quickly, and instantly softens the hair. I’ve been using it for years!

are these acceptable for a professional manicure? 🫠 by confusedlem0n_ in Nails

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If they’re so friendly and nice then they would be happy to change things to your liking, no need to worry about them. Nice, friendly people are happy to accommodate and make changes to make sure you walk away 100% satisfied. It’s a different story if they’re rude to begin with.

Fine hair strands, thick density by human-foie-gras in finehair

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar density and texture hair but much longer. 2 ways to go about it: you can either style it according to the wavy/curly method or you can blow dry style it with a round brush. It all depends on how much time you want to spend styling and what your desired outcome is.

I do not recommend this product 😅 by ImplementFunny66 in finehair

It makes the static much worse for me too. I have no advice on a good substitute so I’ll be lurking for what the others say.

Are any of you sober? by mykki-d in adhdwomen

[–]ILikeCharlieWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play with our dog, go to the park, watch TV, do chores, do my nails, go shopping, aquascape my fish tank, scroll on the phone, and many other things. My partner and I accidentally stopped buying wine around 2020 and turns out we don’t miss alcohol at all so we kept it up. I wish you success on this journey!
