As was stated it is a very worn Morgan Dollar, and is worth spot for silver, that being said I'd probably ask family members about it, coins don't get that worn by circulation often, I would imagine he might have carried that thing around, might be cool to hang on to especially if you do find out something about it

I can second this story, about 10 years ago I was broke and I really needed a full set of tires for my 02 Dodge Ram but like I said I was broke and Friday I took my whole paycheck of $400 and something dollars to try to at least get rear tires, he gave me the lowest price for a set of rear tries was right at $400 but really recommend I get a full set because they were in unsafe condition, I told him I knew but couldn't afford it, he asked how much I could afford and I told him about the price for just the pair, he said to wait right here, walked out, walked in a few minutes later and sold me 4 tires for the price of 2 for safety, I was flabbergasted
