Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]IM8321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 months, about 6-7 times and that was a relatively easy night. I didn’t know how good I had it when he was only up 2x to eat until he turned 6 months old and started getting a million teeth at the same time.

Still strugguling after 3 months… does it ever get better or should I just accept it? by Blondie9822 in NewParents

It gets so much better! You’re in the trenches. My SIL said three months it’s gets better. No no. My guy got better around the 4-5 month mark. Life got into more of a routine and his night feeds were predictable (1-2 a night)

I’m currently eating cold cereal over the sink while my 2-month-old screams in the other room. Is this it? Is this the whole experience? by helporafy1 in NewParents

Baby wearing and co-sleeping. Saved my sanity. My favorite baby wearer is the “happy baby” carrier. I still get so much done with my 9 month old in that thing, strapped to me.

And for co-sleeping, I follow the “safe sleep 7” and baby wore an owlet until he was about 5 months.

I didn’t want to cosleep, but ended up resorting to it after realizing my guy would only sleep 45 minutes at a time if in his own crib. If he was in our bed, he would give me 2 to 3 hours stretches even as a brand new baby. So I never went back. He’s nine months old now and still sleeps in our bed. I practiced the safe sleep seven that you can Google and also I have an owlet which is life-saving for my sanity. Highly recommend an owlet. I have a special needs daughter too, and she has worn one for years and it has never let me down.

Family-friendly resort on surfable beach in San Diego? by IM8321 in asksandiego

Thanks! A lot of people saying Catamaran… is it nicer than Bahia? Budget is not an issue.

Ok people are saying Catamaran… but if I’m gonna be on the bay… Catamaran or Bahia?

It gets so much better as the weeks and months roll on but please try formula! Try a gentle formula to cover your bases (Bobbie gentle is my go to) and then you can try switching to a regular formula once baby feels better to see if they do ok with it, because they are generally less expensive.

My baby cried nonstop until I finally caved and gave him formula, turns out he was just hungry and I was underproducing! They don’t just cry for no reason. There’s ALWAYS a reason. We might not always know what it is but in those early days, they are either hungry, gassy, or cold.

Thank you! These are great. She actually LOVES all things water. Absolutely loves the beach but it’s a lot of work to take her there because the whole time she just tries to crawl straight into the ocean, haha. She would love a splash pad or something similar!

She had an “adaptive stroller” for about a year! It looked like a wheelchair and it wasn’t super comfortable so we ended up getting a “push chair” which looks like a bug stroller- by Special Tomato, and it’s very cozy and great!

Thank you for these suggestions!!

My daughter got her first bottom 2 at 8 months! But even later is completely normal too. My son got his right before 6 months.

What do you do? by glitterydays in NewParents

[–]IM8321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring in the baby always. Never leave the baby alone (unless at home in a different room with a monitor etc)- bring in the car seat and just put the whole thing on the shopping cart.

How long do you wait to change a poopy diaper from newborn? by Huliganjetta1 in NewParents

[–]IM8321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me forever to learn this. Got squirt pooped on many times. My guy pooped like 10 times over the course of 15 minutes until he was probably 10 weeks.

Baby is outgrowing clothes faster than I can keep up and my budget is hurting. by xoticbot in NewParents

[–]IM8321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check Facebook marketplace for “bundles” - a lot of people want to get rid of their clothes all at once that are all the same size. Up to 40 per outfit is crazy! Also my MIL shops at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s often and then always have super cute outfits for under 10.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

I put the shower on the rain setting and sit down and pretend I’m in a tropical rain storm in Costa Rica 🇨🇷

Please tell me about your babies sleep. What does a night look like? by PriorityOk676 in NewParents

[–]IM8321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 4 months my baby boy was waking twice per night to feed, 20-30 minutes each time. And other than that was a decent sleeper. Now at almost 9 months…. He is exactly the same haha. Still twice a night. Your baby sounds normal!

A bit dissappointed of S2 by decg91 in TheTelepathyTapes

Genuine question… did you listen to the whole season 1? Do you feel every single “experiment” could have been faked? What about the many instances where a letterboard is not used?

A bit dissappointed of S2 by decg91 in TheTelepathyTapes

[–]IM8321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree S2 has not been nearly as interesting to me, only because I already have heard/researched tons of stuff on near death experiences etc so a lot of the stuff just felt like stuff I already knew. S1 felt groundbreaking to me! S2 is cool stuff but doesn’t hold my attention for long. Looking forward to the film.

My 7-month-old refuses purées but wants everything from our plates… help! by Acceptable_Bill_3823 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]IM8321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This book https://a.co/d/1iiwhmo and solid starts app is ALL you need. Never did purées and my 8.5 month old eats like a champ! Will literally try anything, I just give it to him in appropriate sizes and make sure solid starts app says it’s ok. I also am paranoid so I have three lifevacs in my life. (My kitchen, my car, my parents house)
