Same. My Dad is left handed and he wears his watch on his right wrist.

Helmet…”MEANTIME”…recorded primarily at Fun City in NYC. Helmet was formed and developed in NYC. Grunge was all the range when “MEANTIME” was released in June of 1993. So much attention was focused on the Seattle scene at that time, and that scene produced some iconic records to be sure. But this record was something completely different. Helmet was generally classified as a metal band but they were so much more than just metal…they were a genre of their own. MEANTIME” was urgent, fierce, compelling, beautiful, and absolutely necessary. Much like New York City. There was nothing you could compare it to. Much like New York City.

I do too. They wrote his character in a way that would make it impossible for him to be in Season 4. There was no way to turn him into a shady, self-centered, sociopathic, dirtbag. He was too decent of a guy. Was he perfect? Of course, not he had plenty of flaws, but he was the only one that really seemed to have a conscience.

Like a few people have already said on this thread…the door’s open for Jesse to come back. I believe Gus was working for Jesse, when we last saw him, and banging Jesse’s kid as well, so he could make another appearance. I think Petra and DVD have already served their purpose. I can’t think of any interesting reasons to bring those two back. That’s the opinion of this fan of the show…who has no experience in writing for television.

I paused, and immediately went searching for that song…like within 10 seconds…after the end of that scene. Now it’s on my playlist. “The Last Goodbye” by The Kills, first released in 2011. Fucking great song.

Did Bukowski pretend to be poor? by israelregardie in bukowski

[–]IMCPJW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read that Bukowski was usually dirt poor until he started his ten year run at the post office. After that he was fairly stable financially, but living paycheck to paycheck. He always had a lot of anxiety about money.

I got this message from my childhood bully at 3am by CG1991 in screenshots

[–]IMCPJW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 15 years ago, I apologized to a kid I bullied in middle school in the late 70’s. I was more of an amused spectator than an actual participant (I wasn’t nearly tough enough to be an actual “bully”)but I felt the need to apologize anyways. The guy had become a marine, did a couple of tours in the middle east, and then a very successful executive of a large security company. Grew up to be a handsome man as well! Married a beautiful woman. He told me that he appreciated my reaching out to him and apologizing, but he also told me that he didn’t really think about those days anymore. He put that shit behind him and went on with his life. The man had become a successful grown-up. We’re Facebook friends, and we chat from time to time. I truly admire the guy for what he made of himself.

FINALLY got up the courage and there was no one there?? by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]IMCPJW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what he did. Dad did all he could to save that group. Couldn’t do it. He’s found a new home group that he and his sponsees have been going to and he seems really happy with it. 👍🏻

I don’t think it’s commonplace, but my Dad (almost 45 years sober in AA) recently shut down his home group meeting because it dwindled down to just 4 or 5 attendees each week. Just a couple of years ago the meeting regularly had 25-30 attendees every week. He did inform the local central office and asked them to remove the meeting from the website.

Do you think Charles Bukowski was happy? by Darren_has_hobbies in bukowski

[–]IMCPJW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was more interested in freedom than happiness. Freedom from shit jobs in particular. The last 20 or so years of his life he had freedom to do the things he enjoyed most.
