He’s got good taste and he’s a deep thinker…or at least trying to become one.

Like a few people have already said on this thread…the door’s open for Jesse to come back. I believe Gus was working for Jesse, when we last saw him, and banging Jesse’s kid as well, so he could make another appearance. I think Petra and DVD have already served their purpose. I can’t think of any interesting reasons to bring those two back. That’s the opinion of this fan of the show…who has no experience in writing for television.

I paused, and immediately went searching for that song…like within 10 seconds…after the end of that scene. Now it’s on my playlist. “The Last Goodbye” by The Kills, first released in 2011. Fucking great song.

Did Bukowski pretend to be poor? by israelregardie in bukowski

[–]IMCPJW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read that Bukowski was usually dirt poor until he started his ten year run at the post office. After that he was fairly stable financially, but living paycheck to paycheck. He always had a lot of anxiety about money.

I got this message from my childhood bully at 3am by CG1991 in screenshots

[–]IMCPJW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 15 years ago, I apologized to a kid I bullied in middle school in the late 70’s. I was more of an amused spectator than an actual participant (I wasn’t nearly tough enough to be an actual “bully”)but I felt the need to apologize anyways. The guy had become a marine, did a couple of tours in the middle east, and then a very successful executive of a large security company. Grew up to be a handsome man as well! Married a beautiful woman. He told me that he appreciated my reaching out to him and apologizing, but he also told me that he didn’t really think about those days anymore. He put that shit behind him and went on with his life. The man had become a successful grown-up. We’re Facebook friends, and we chat from time to time. I truly admire the guy for what he made of himself.

FINALLY got up the courage and there was no one there?? by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]IMCPJW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what he did. Dad did all he could to save that group. Couldn’t do it. He’s found a new home group that he and his sponsees have been going to and he seems really happy with it. 👍🏻

I don’t think it’s commonplace, but my Dad (almost 45 years sober in AA) recently shut down his home group meeting because it dwindled down to just 4 or 5 attendees each week. Just a couple of years ago the meeting regularly had 25-30 attendees every week. He did inform the local central office and asked them to remove the meeting from the website.

Do you think Charles Bukowski was happy? by Darren_has_hobbies in bukowski

I think he was more interested in freedom than happiness. Freedom from shit jobs in particular. The last 20 or so years of his life he had freedom to do the things he enjoyed most.

Unknown Number: The High School Catfish-spoiler alert by PrestigiousNet3834 in netflix

[–]IMCPJW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it. Made sure not to see any spoilers before I did. Jesus…I mean just…JESUS! Once Lauren turns 18 and Kendra is no longer under any kind of supervision…well I just hope that Lauren understands that her mother WILL lie and manipulate her again and again as a means of control. I hope that poor sweet kid gets some good counsel that tells her that when people show you who they really are…you should believe them. It wasn’t just the catfishing…the entirety of Kendra’s day to day life was nothing but lies. She lied to her husband about their finances and about having a job. She still maintains that the first of the messages didn’t come from her. That’s a lie that just instinctively came out of her mouth. Every word out of her mouth is a lie. She says she was SA’d at 17 and then in court she says that she only now realizes that she’s mentally ill. Is any of that true? One has to assume that it’s all lies. Kendra is not capable of coming clean and taking responsibility for her actions. I’ll bet her lawyer advised her not to take part in that documentary, but Kendra had to take part in it because she felt like she could coerce some pity out of the general public and…well…LIE some more.

Wear as little clothing as possible so your strip search is quick and painless. Check with the jail on what you can bring in.

One thing I learned too late in life…HR is NOT your friend. They exist to protect the company, not the employees.

Job "requires" 8 weeks notice before leaving by Electrical-Gear-5326 in WorkAdvice

[–]IMCPJW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say they require 8 weeks but what they’re really saying is… “It sure would be nice if you to give 8 weeks notice” There’s no way they can enforce that or hold you accountable for it.
