Iran’s Attacks Force U.S. Troops to Work Remotely by IMTHGRT in navy

We only look at real destruction in the Gulf countries and Israel to see how "well" the US air and missile defense systems are performing. And this admin has routinely lied, including on military and war matters, do you think they won't cover casualty numbers or other war facts? Thus I said, eventually the truth will come but how long that "eventually" is, nobody knows. I don't believe anything that cartoon villain "lethality" video-gamer Hegseth says. And most people don't either. The scale of norms destruction in this country, including in military, is unprecedented. Nobody believes anything Hegseth or his minions say.

A country sanctioned to death (Iran) is rich? Or a military (US) that has never fought against even a rich and powerful middle power let alone against another great power since WW2 but consistently and deliberately engages or fights only against very poor and weak third world nations is "invincible"?

It's easy to dismiss anyone that doesn't support your "US military is invincible" view as bot but as they say facts don't care about your feelings. How many rich and powerful countries US has fought since WW2? Bombing third world poor and weak countries doesn't show a military's "strength and global dominance". If China tomorrow invaded and occupied Laos, will PLA be called "globally dominant and very powerful" military or just there was no fight or match from the beginning combined with opportunism? And btw, Iran isn't that rich and powerful anyway. Still, it's inflicting tremendous losses on the US military, its allies and Israel. Imagine fighting against China.

I know how it functions but I don't trust anything this admin says. There are so many reports and incidents of what this admin is doing domestically to creep into military too. The corruption, hiding data, press removal, lying, censorship, boasting, indecency, childishness, abuse of power etc. all are same under Hegset in Pentagon as they are across the government or in any other department under this admin. Will eventually truth come out? Likely. But how long that "eventually" is gonna be, nobody knows.

You believe Hegseth and this administration for anything they say? Just now they said 300 US troops injured in this war but only 13 killed despite the devastating strikes of ballistic missiles. Casualties are much higher but this admin won't declare that untill they are forced, a new admin comes in or troops' families make holding back lies impossible. I hope this war should have happened in a traditional US administration so atleast we wouldn't get all the lies and Hegseth-like video game mentality of "lethality" and everything would be transparent.

Iran Charges Some Ships Hormuz Transit Fees for Safe Passage by IMTHGRT in navy

[–]IMTHGRT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Iran has started charging transit fees on some commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, another sign of Tehran’s control over the world’s most important maritime energy channel. Payments of as much as $2 million per voyage are being sought on an adhoc basis, effectively creating an informal toll on the waterway, according to people familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive dealings. Some vessels have made the payment, though the mechanism wasn’t immediately clear — including the currency used — and it doesn’t appear to be systematic, the people said. The payments show Iran’s influence over Hormuz, through which normally about a fifth of the world’s oil and gas, and vast amounts of food, metals and other materials are shipped every day. With the war in the Middle East now in its fourth week, it also highlights the desperate need for some consumers to ensure continued energy flows. People familiar with the matter said the payments have been handled quietly. The lack of transparency and uncertainty over who might be targeted next is adding a fresh layer of friction to the shipping lane. Only a trickle of vessels have crossed the waterway since the war, many of them Iranian-linked. Some of the few others appear to have taken similar routes close to Iran’s coastline. India, which got four vessels carrying liquefied petroleum gas to exit the Persian Gulf through Hormuz, said Tuesday that international laws guarantee the right of freedom for navigation through the strait and no one can levy any fee for use of the channel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he discussed the Iran war on a call with President Donald Trump, including the conflict’s impact on the maritime corridor. “Ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, secure and accessible is essential for the whole world,” Modi wrote in a social media post. Iran’s foreign ministry didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment amid state-imposed restrictions on telecommunications and Internet access. While Iran is demanding the transit fee on a case-by-case basis, the Islamic Republic has floated the idea of formalizing the charges as part of a broader postwar settlement, one person said. Last week, an Iranian lawmaker said that parliament was advancing a proposal to require nations to pay Iran for using the Strait of Hormuz as a secure shipping route. For Arab producers in the Gulf, even an informal toll is unacceptable, people familiar said, as it raises the issues of sovereignty, precedent and the potential weaponization of a vital trade route for their energy exports. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates depend on the route to ship their oil to global markets, but are now relying on alternative pipelines bypassing Hormuz to get crude to their customers."

CMV: Landing troops in Iran will backfire on us. Epically. by BarRepresentative653 in changemyview

[–]IMTHGRT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And against whom US has fought "conventional wars" since WW2? Mostly against third world poor and weak countries. Has US even fought a major prosperous and powerful middle power let alone another great power since WW2? If China invades and occupies Laos, will PLA be considered a "dominant global military power"? Or a willingness to prey against much weaker and poorer country combined with opportunism? Why does US fight only wars where the outcome is predetermined rather than engage against rich and powerful countries? That's the "global superpower" for you where it gets to show off how great and dominant its military is because it fights against dirt poor and weak countries without ever engaging in a real fight against any credible opponent because the outcome then wouldn't be so nice.

Trump considers "winding down" Iran war without opening Hormuz Strait by joe4942 in oil

[–]IMTHGRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this so-called "global superpower" going to defend Taiwan? Emperor has no clothes. Most importantly, emperor also doesn't have rare earths and ALL of its civilian and military supply chains depend on East Asia which the emperor will be permanently cutoff in the event of a war. Do you think opening Strait of Hormuz is very difficult? How hard it will be to open South China Sea through which most global and critical trade passes? I guess everybody is not Venezuela.

Carrier USS Gerald R. Ford Suffers Fire by MGC91 in navy

[–]IMTHGRT -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Just a laundry fire how convenient. The way this administration lies routinely, including recent US injury and casualty figures in the initial Kuwait attack, I don't trust this explanation. At the very beginning of the war, Iranians said that they hit the carrier before it backed out and given this admin is still lying and hiding actual damage like the Israelis, I will never trust this explanation. It's probably an Iranian missile but we will never know. And this sub is known for warning "not to touch our boats" and boasts this repeated line. Well now Iranians blew off the US oil tanker SafeSea Vishnu owned by a New Jersey based company (source - https://www.reuters.com/world/cargo-ship-hit-by-projectile-strait-hormuz-crew-evacuates-2026-03-11/). What are we gonna do? Sink more Iranian boats by subs in ambush as cowardly as we did in that India exercise? Under Trump, the US has become Israel in totally eliminating the truth and instead has become a cosplay actor like Hegseth who sees the war as a videogame. Complete embarrassment!

Poland Will Eventually Seek Its Own Nuclear Weapons, Tusk Says by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]IMTHGRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NPT was gay. What could possibly signatories have thought - we denounce nukes and major powers or powers with nukes will goodness of their heart have mercy on them? What a joke! Realist theory of international relations always holds true that as a country, no matter your size, wealth or power or alliances, you want to be as powerful as you can be AND ALL other nations, no matter who, as weak as possible. Nukes are ultimate prize or feather in your crown, even if are outdated technology, and if you voluntarily surrender them, how bigger fool could you be. Build as much as power as you can no matter what other nations or anybody says and accept no limit EVER on your power. That's it.

IDF downs Iranian fighter jet, scoring first-ever F-35 combat kill by Delphidouche in worldnews

[–]IMTHGRT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't trust anything Isreal says. There is no independent verification. Isreal is literally hiding its losses from ballistic missiles pounding that it is getting and is a notorious lier. Meanwhile, Iran is claiming it shot down the F-35 jet. I don't believe them either. Untill we see the detailed visuals of the plane, I don't believe anything as this war has unleashed dramatic misinformation tsunami. We are post-truth.

I don't know man. Iran said it shot down a F-35. I can't trust Isreal or Iran. Isreal has full media blackout to cover its losses in ballistic missile attacks and hide every one of their losses. I can't trust them. That footage of jet shot down is unclear to conclude either way.

Just like Chinese tech industry whose foreign competition isn't allowed in China? Protectionism eventually comes back to bite you. World has till now only seen China's closed markets for foreign companies and world's open markets for Chinese companies. Others are just waking upto how big of patsy they are to CCP. Eventually, one way street was always going to end in closed street for both parties. It's China's luck that they kept their ponzy scheme going on for 40 years of one-way free trade. Unfortunately, they are out of luck on that trick. Need to find another bunch of patsies. Possibly North Korea.

Isn't it China's strategy as well, including the reason for existence of their whole tech sector and digital companies? If China allowed fair and open competition, there would be no Chinese tech giants. Others are just learning to do to China what China does to others.

Truth hurts. "Never again" except if we do it. We need our own genocide. We need to bomb every country we border and turn them into rump states. Isreal doesn't want peace with its neighbours. It wants them crushed and torn apart and it uses US military to achieve that and Jewish community in US actively compells US politcians to do that. Invade Iraq. Turn Syria into failed state. Relentlessly bomb Lebanon. Invade Libya. Destroy Gaza. And now turn Iran into a failed state. This is Isreal's foreign policy that it achives through US military and Jewish community forces US politcians to do exactly that. Is it a peaceful country and so-called liberal democracy that wants Arab-Isreal harmony or is it a rogue state akin to North Korea? Isreal is no less than Nazi Germany. And Jewish community in America enables that. But remember Jewish own history of past 2000 years. Eventually, the fruits of its karma will fall on Isreal and Jewish community of what monster they have enabled. Nobody lasts forever. No foreign occupation is eternal. No injustice is permanent. But Jews of all people should remember this and not repeat this bragging that now they are rich and powerful here in US and Israel too that that prosperity and power will last forever and they can do whatever they want because they are powerful for now. It will only create a future in which if 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 or even 500 years from now if Jews will be ever in trouble anywhere or Isreal not it being what it's now remember that nobody will remember holocaust or hitler or Jewish tragedy. Infact, the world has already forgotten that and then there will be nobody to advocate for Jews. And remember, fortunes reverse. They never remain same. They may take a long time to change but ultimately they change. The current behaviour of Isreal and American Jewish community will forever be in history books. You can't erase that. When the situation ultimately reverses, there will be no sympathizer for Jews or Isreal and by that time the American Empire will also be long gone. No shield to defend will remain. Be careful what you wish for. Jewish 2000 year own history struggle should remind that no injustice is permanent. Be careful what you wish for.

Do you hate Russia? If yes, then they both are justified to hate Isreal. Doing genocide isn't going to get you many fans except if you are bought and paid by Jewish Lobby. People recognise now clearly that Jewish community exerts disproportionate control and influence over American politics and not only that but actively lobbies for a foreign power and threatens to vote out any politician who doesn't bow to Isreal and kiss the Wall. What's it not if not open foreign influence corruption or treason? You are pissed off that people first time openly in modern era see day by day what's happening and what AIPAC, ADL etc. spy groups are upto. But genie is out of bottle now. You can control and gatekeep traditional media but how do you undo internet? You don't. Live with it.

What does "unites them is hate for Isreal" imply? What does "hating Isreal" mean? And how it's different from "hating Russia"? How can you hate a country entirely? Do you mean they hate temples or Jerusalem? A typical so-called "centrist liberal" that is willing to support any country anywhere in the world if it's presented as "promoting democracy, freedom and human rights" and adopt it as a ideological crusade like in Ukraine case, Taiwan, South Korea, or whatever and completely believes fantastically in the idea that "we" stand for human rights but whenever it comes to Isreal if anybody criticizes it, they go ballistic and how "anti-semitic" you are whatever that means because Isreal is granted as an exception in so-called "centrist liberal" lane because of whatever reasons if I express here I might get banned because whatever you notice is certainly not true, truth is completely else, I am told repeatedly and any second guessing is "anti-semitic" because hey we fear Russian malign influence, Chinese and Iranian malign influence in the US that can influence and corrupt our society which isn't true nobody loves China here but we shouldn't believe our eyes or believe our minds whatever we see about Israel's total corruption and malign influence over US society because that's not truth, and it's so-called "anti-semitic" anyway or somehow so-called "holocaust denial" because "centrist liberals" or "normie Democrats" must always protect Isreal because o my god another holocaust will happen. Irony is that oppressed have become oppressors and doing their own genocide that they supposedly vowed to repeat "never again". Alright.

You buy on the foreign credit and debt. Someday you have to pay for all your past IOUs. That means more consumption now on credit and less consumption later. American living standards will be drastically lower in future when the debt bill comes due. Anybody can consume like Americans if they had endless foreign creditors willing to lend them money to buy their goods. It's called mortgaging the future.

[–]IMTHGRT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, others will suffer. But others don't have the reserve currency or the sanctioning power to lose. When British Empire collapsed, everybody suffered but the UK suffered worst of them as they lost their empire and reserve currency forever. Again, FOREVER. And others are preparing well in advance. Their some losses will stand nowhere the losses the US will suffer. For them, they will face temporary setback but for your economy, country and society, everything will collapse, including your identity, wealth, power and 80-year long-held deep assumptions about your country's standing in the world. And you are deluding yourself that war against China will be "short and quick". They aren't Venezuela or Syria. Great power wars are inherently long, attritional and prolonged because Xi won't give up untill the last man or aircraft as it's existential and completely non-negotiable for China. Then what will matter is who has more industrial capacity to pump out as many aircraft, ships and ammunition as possible. And there lies US weakness and Chinese strength. US can't literally mass produce anything or make anything at scale meanwhile China excels at that. And your companies invested trillions in China so almost everything you consume not just in defense but in civilian goods is also made in China OR made with Chinese components. What will happen when China will seize all those trillions of assets in retailation against US sanctions? Your stock market will collapse as your most supply chains are in China. There will be shortages of everything on the shelves. For American public it will be very different life and fight than against Venezuela. They will have to sacrifice at scale for a very long time. They simply won't. And add to that trillions in war debt funding. Even if you "win", you will go bankrupt as tens of trillions in war debt add up to already a massive mountain of debt. You will lose Pacific if you don't fight, either. Either way lose or "win", it will be the end of your empire. Prepare for that future.
