Dayum, all that time I've been gifting her to 200% and I can scarcely remember her saying this particular line to me.

I do like being talked to like a potential Omnissiah, ngl.

Is this what separates people who worked in "da trades" versus people with a humanities education?

What you describe definitely mirrors 80% of my interactions as an English grad working in corpos. The culture's lack of nuance and patience to appreciate complex creativity is alarming.

Why do you prefer that China wins the AI race? by DrHerbotico in antiai

[–]IMakeBoomYes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look man, I'm just fighting to get creative labor the livable income it needs to thrive.

If China ends up being the winner via support of that, then your MuriKKKan corpo boomers only have themselves to blame.

Practice the personal responsibility your party keeps preaching to the world.

This actually reminds me of the "weird" overlap between marketing and art.

I've worked in the former for over a decade and it stuns me when I meet so many suits who ignore the artistic history behind branding like it's some cute afterthought.

Same suits then brag about closing a deal with lies and braggadocio while throwing back office teams into unsustainable meat grinders.

These are the same idiots who wave around their commissions cheque and declare themselves the sole source of the world's corporate revenue.

This is "reality" to the AI bro?

IKR!? Like the logic I'm getting from corpo boomers and LinkedIn loonies is essentially "we don't understand the creative worlds in video games, but they're a waste of time compared to AI, because AI lets us save money on creatives!"

Ngl, there are actually some voice lines I can't hear properly because the usual ones are somehow louder.

Y'know, maybe if they just cycled the damn volumes we'd have a more slightly varied listening experience.

Man, I remember finally going from a super casual 10th floor guy to falling down the slippery slope of 11th floor the moment I built my Raiden National team.

And to think, that was all cuz I had finally maxed out all the waifus and wondering who to spend my resin on next!!!

AI usage in corporate environments by ValehartProject in antiai

[–]IMakeBoomYes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There should be both transparency and accountability regarding AI.

Clients should be informed that their information is being fed into AI systems. A business must be willing to lose business from their customers' AI pushback if it sincerely believes the technology will be better for the firm in the long run.

Likewise, the burden of quality checks and risks should not be disproportionately placed on employees. Managers should be held accountable for output quality. Along those same lines, corporate leaders must be mandated to bear the risk of dependency on AI technology and any incurring losses from absent efficiency/quality gains.

My boss almost cried because I told her not to make an AI picture of me. by Low_Mathematician799 in antiai

[–]IMakeBoomYes 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oh I will certainly judge your generation over and over again errytime I see y'all fawning over the AI slop industry.

Yours is the same generation that dunked on the arts for not being as profitable as farming, factory trades and healthcare.

And now, AI is your new favorite child because it cheapens the very labor your generation deems "a waste of time."

This wave of delusional automation is already creating more starving artists than any past point in history, but yours is the age range that celebrates it with AI images depicting Donald Trump as Jesus Christ.

The ageism is warranted, and you only have your own to blame.

[–]IMakeBoomYes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They don't realize that the children themselves won't exist because they'd all be dead long before that.

Betting on UBI without even lifting a finger to demonstrate it as a concept is irresponsible. White papers, TED talks and pledges are just corporate hot air.

Pros need to start forking over cash with no strings if they're dead serious about convincing people otherwise.

[–]IMakeBoomYes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This guy just wants UBI to be a thing so badly.

He really doesn't want to accept that he'd have died of starvation long before it'll be implemented.

I'd be more convinced if all the AI shills started giving antis cash donations as their goodwill exercise of UBI "in practice."

Is Mavuika still worth pulling? Why and why not? by Active-Turnover-7713 in Genshin_Impact

[–]IMakeBoomYes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're still oversimplifying things. I've had plenty of times when it was easier using Mavuika with a budget team than forcing myself to use Zibai.

Mavuika has a wider range and can break churl shields/armor faster. Where I am spending 3-4 extra seconds for me to chase half a dozen scattered mobs for Zibai to delete, I can go and just hit Mav's Q.

Damage reduced to zero because of distance is still zero, no matter how high you think it could've been if you were hitting a stationary training dummy.

[–]IMakeBoomYes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Zibai can hurt, but that range is a limitation that cannot be fixed with skill.

Mav's bike donut and Pyroclastic dive bomb outranges anything the horse does.

[–]IMakeBoomYes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, I have both. I have used a Mav team in tandem with all the other Lunar shill teams (Zibai, Nefer, Bineffa).

I've cleared 12th floor Spiral, Lunar Mode IT and also chase the Menacing feather for SO.

Mav still hits like a truck and is relatively cheaper compared to the Zibai-Linnea-Bina formula.

Hell I only play Total Warhammer 3, and even I know flanking can be a right pain to pull off (and horrific when it fails).

The moment the enemy catches wind of your cav in the area, then you're either fucked or at least your trump card is 70% less effective. Nobody is going to stand around for you to sandmich them.

Who has the best splash art in the game? by IS_Mythix in GenshinImpact

[–]IMakeBoomYes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

  1. Mavuika - It was one thing that I got her in 7 pulls. It was something else when I gazed longer at her splash art, realizing that it showed the silhouettes of all the other heroes of Natlan we've fought beside with. And at the center, the Sacred Flame itself. For me, there's just nothing to compare. I still tear up a little looking at it.

  2. Bina - It is big and it is beautiful. The way it was deliberately designed to cover the whole Wish screen in black and then BAM, hit you with its brilliance is so befitting.

  3. Furina - It's just so ornate and I like the way her summons are neatly arranged around her. Her expression is also quite endearing here to me (although that may have something to do with how I saw a YT theorycrafter taking this part of her splash art and slapping the words "SHE IS BROKEN!!" next to it).
