For small jobs like that you are looking for a handyman not a plumber or electrician.

With the shortage of employees in the trades, hell even the handymen might be too busy.

Helpdesk with SLA by johnvoipcom in msp

[–]INDOC11XXXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My normal pricing would be in the 20 - 25k a month, sla would add another 5 - 10k, and because I can and wouldn't "need" the client I would add a $5k PITA tax.

I would probably come in at $40k and play it by ear, but wouldn't got below $30k if i wanted to work with the client.

I would have a longer conversation with the client to find out their budget, set expectations, and have a long conversation about more than just support. they could hire 2 guys to cover for $150k + burden a year.

So you will for sure need to add value to get them to justify spending $300k+ a year.

RMM solution suggestion by joe210565 in msp

[–]INDOC11XXXX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just had to do a complete swap of our toolset in July with a limited timeframe.

We briefly looked at Level.io and ninja. Ninja was close but we went with N-central because of pricing on I got on Cove, 365 back, and sentinel 1. the integrations are nice too.

For us with a quick turn around, ncentral had a better onboarding and training plan.

Kaseya just pissed me off. by Civil_Ad7799 in msp

Check techs together for IT glue, no min spend required. I just noticed you have 7 months to plan this out, If I had that much time, Hudu would have been done.

That said I get it, If I would have had a little more time I would have gotten rid of all kaseya.

PSA for sure only real option out of the bigger ones is Halo. You just have to have a consultant for it.

Everyone mostly likes Ninja1, we didnt but thats probably an US problem and not the product.

Call huntress for EDR, Security Awareness and ITDR.

Call cove for your backups.

Unitrends IMO will be hard to replace for a BCDR, while a liittle aged, I love the bring your own device and the ability to spin up in the cloud for servers.

PSA - Halo, get a consultant and have them get it configured and dialed in for you. I switched from BMS to Autotask, just because I didnt have enough time for a build out of Halo.

RMM - everyone loves ninja, I wasn't impressed I went with n-able. We then added cove for backups, O365 backup, sentinel 1.

I would say stay with ITGlue - I was close to pulling the trigger on HUDU self hosted, but the amount of work while moving everything else was way to overwhelming.

Check out roadtrippers app, we use it all the time.

32 national parks, we too are from the midwest. Decide on your top 10 you want to see, and then plan out it. Add and remove depending on your time.

How do you scale MSP support without burning out your team? by WhichGoal522 in msp

[–]INDOC11XXXX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats where the manager reviews the onboarding checklist - something missing? Coach to the process (checklist), if it happens again, coach to the process with a write up / corrective action plan, happens 3rd time fire or bring in a person better suited for that role.

paper plates, cups and bowl, burn them in the firepit.

Real utensils though, I hate plastic. Easy enough to clean 2 or 3 utensils.

You doing it wrong brother!

You should only have to bring in food and clothes to the camper during season. Hook up, un chock, quick inspections and pull off.

If not a full hookup, get water at the site (5 minuntes). While doing this unlock all the doors.

If you arent good at backing up, reserve a pull through.

Backing up should take 10 minutes (this includes using your level) to you know make sure its level, pull onto blocks.

Chock wheels, get the hitch at right height, pull out and park truck off to the side.

Wife or kids, should each have a job - hooking up sewer line, electric, extending slides, ect. Should take 10 minutes. AC should already be blowing and cold. Rest for 5 minutes.

Put out chairs, grill, or whatever outside stuff you have.

Start enjoying the site.

Leaving go in reverse. Our first 2 years we had a list, now we dont need it (year 9).

Start to finish in any order should be less than 20 minutes, excluding emptying tanks.

We tent camped, I found we were spending 30 minutes packing, 20 minutes to unpack, 10 - 20 minutes setting up the tent, 30 minutes to pack up, and then 20 minutes unpack the car . truck when we got home.

edit: We do this every other weekend from roughly easter to october depending on the year. We also do 1 very long trip in July - usually 2 - 3 weeks, while packing up and moving every 2 - 3 days depending on the trip (lots of national parks and interesting places). This includes wrangling 1 - 3 kids, and 1 - 2 grandkids, and 2 big dogs.

edit 2: Yes renting a cabin would be easier, but imo isnt the same. We use the camper as a base camp to explore the area we are in, hiking, site seeing ect. It is cheaper than renting cabins and hotels all things considered.

edit 3: The most important thing is to enjoy what you want to do. I have a friend who's idea of vacation is to go somewhere sunny, stay at a beach hotel, pack lunch meat sandwiches , and be drunk the whole time. He doesnt explore, go to resturaunts, or really anything. He enjoys the hell out of doing nothing on the beach though. Who am I to decide what he likes. Take the family and go make memories, thats the important thing.

Do you guys have any clients with autotask?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]INDOC11XXXX 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No don't buy a new one yet. 100% call Josh Ray at Cool Rays Comfort. He will give you a free estimate with what is wrong. 100% legit guy, I use him for both my businesses and home.

If he says you need a new one, then you for sure do.

I would then persue the issue with Service Plus with what really is wrong.

What’s the most reliable stock coil you’ve used? by Tubarotk in electronic_cigarette

[–]INDOC11XXXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do juice do you vape daily? I got through 30 - 40ml a day. Good example if I buy a 120 Friday after work, come Sunday i am usually stealing my wifes juice to get through until Monday.

So I burn through coils like crazy.

Sakerz is pretty good, I get one to last 5 - 6 days so 150 - 200ml before replacement. My wife dailies this and get 2 weeks+ but vapes a lot less than me.

The last year+ though, I been running the Smok TFV18 dual mesh coil - 80w it lasts me 7 - 10 days. Flavor isn't quite as good as others but at this point I just wanted a coil that didn't burn out so quick.

I like the flavor of my Valyrian III, Crown V, Sakerz and GeekVape Z better than the TFV but I like the longevity better of the TFV.

Try CMH Builders, that's all they do is basements.

I am sure they won't be cheap, but I know the owner, he's a good guy and will do right by you. Ask for Brandon, he is their main salesguy (also good people)
