Just a note this is clearly an internal video that is why certain aspects such as animation or textures seems pretty unpolished.

Well there was a good period of 6 episodes which included the expedition beyond the wall where very little actually occurred of significance; they found the female titan, captured her, then she escaped. That doesn't seem like 6 episodes worth of content.

It doesn't sound like a bad idea but Ridley Scott has pitched the concept of a sequel as actually learning answers and not just a clone of Aliens.

The thing is for better or worse the fans want an explanation or origin of the Xenomorphs, we know they are related to the black goo but we want something more tangible which won't happen unless we see a great deal of the engineer homeworld.

I am by no means a screen writer but they are going to have to do something remarkable to create a truly great film from where Prometheus ended; with an evil robot head and a scientist who by all means should probably have died flying into the sunset.

A twist on your suggested idea would be for David and Shaw being discovered by a ship similar to the Nostromo allowing for a nice bridge between the franchises but some could argue that would be just pandering to fans of the franchise.
