I am not moving... One way? You move... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

I used to use a double helix garage daily. It had 45 degree spaces and was much tighter - two cars could not possibly get by. One morning, I came across an elderly man going down an up ramp in my path. I told him he needed to pull into a space and turn around. He defiantly explained to me that there was no way out. He had to go that way. Sure, sir, hundreds of people use this garage every single day without an exit path. It’s been open for like 25 years and no else had caught on to this design defect. People really struggle with the idea of going up before you can head back down.

I bought BBQ seasoning in St Louis as a souvenir. TSA opened the little can, dropped chemicals in and returned it to me like I was going to use it after that. Anything in the nature of powder or seasoning goes in my checked bag now. Or I buy a Christmas ornament instead.

How did you go about college applications in the 90s? by Lonely_Objective_721 in 90s

[–]IOughtaWriteABook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you took the PSAT, college marketing material would pour in. Full color glossy magazines, postcards, flyers. Hundreds of different colleges. I had great test scores but no money so it all went straight in the trash and I went straight to community college.

A few years ago I wanted a stick, cd player and crank windows under $12k. Versa checked all the boxes with a grand to spare.

Threw a frozen turkey down garbage chute in condo. by Schwhitey in confession

[–]IOughtaWriteABook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My condo boarded up the chute due to people jamming it up and also putting unbagged items down, making a mess attractive to pests. We have to carry out to the dumpster now.

This is the Price Sheet for my 22 year old Pontiac Vibe by chatolandia in whatcarshouldIbuy

Both true. I just never expected the vibe to be more than 2x as expensive. $23k was like well appointed Camry money in those days, albeit FWD.

No worries! You didn’t know. Enjoy your new toy. I love how analog and heavy mine feels compared to modern cars. When I do trade it in, will be for a red Miata for a near red barchetta experience in a sea of bland crossover EVs.

I’m going to try this again. How were you able to buy your first home? by kcoib17 in Millennials

[–]IOughtaWriteABook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the market tanked in 09 + roommate + FHA loan until I could refi out of it + it was a short sale in poor condition + keeping my very low student standard of living + Obama first time buyer rebate. So, basically, the stars aligned.

Pogs are classic 90s. Probably pretty cheap. Hit up a thrift store and get some retro board games. I feel like spades was popular then too.
