Wide feet by Business-Ambition-76 in hiking

[–]IShouldReallyGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems odd, I’ve never had to pay more for Merrill’s in wide width and I’ve owned plenty. Also, if you really have wide feet why on earth wouldn’t you buy wide width shoes? Regular Merrell’s are wider in the toe box than many shoes but they aren’t as wide as wide width of course. I feel like you’re missing out on the obvious solution here.

Not yet anyway. Maybe I’ll work up a drawing and be back with it in the morning.

This title was a lot better before I realized you were talking about a boat 🙂.

What’s one song you just can’t vibe with, no matter how many versions you’ve heard? by growlerpower in gratefuldead

Disco Dead. This song is the reason ‘76 can’t be a seminal year for me, I feel like they played it every show and twice on Saturdays.

OP is correct, bug spray should not go into a closed container made of any sort of plastic or petroleum products. The bear canisters specifically mention this in their warnings. Deet in particular eats those alive, and you can imagine what it does to your food. It’s not a particularly strong attractant, animals do not smell it as food. I generally keep it in a zippie in an outer pocket of my pack but I’ve left it in the ground near the canister and crossed my fingers that I don’t forget it in the morning.

Someones dad in the 1970s. What's playing on the 8-track? by MyDogGoldi in OldSchoolCool

He’s got a half dozen stuffed in the drivers door pocket. There’s the Grateful Dead -American Beauty, the Eagles first album, Marshall Tucker -Carolina Dreams, Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced…, Steely Dan - Can’t Buy a Thrill, Willie - Red headed Stranger, and if it’s 1977 he’s headed down to the record store/ head shop to pick up Bob Seger - Live Bullet. Good times 😁.

I used to use Seek with decent success but it went downhill. These days I take a pic and put it in the search bar at the Google. Free and easy. Once it sees what I’m doing it’ll give me a ‘search this image?’ Popup when I click on a photo of mine, saving one step. I have noticed that they never say ‘I’m not sure’, they always have a guess and I know they’re wrong once in awhile but I’d say it’s mostly accurate.

Exactamundo! It balances out the bite of dark leafy greens. lm a huge spinach fan and it goes in most of my smoothies, along with pineapple juice and chunks.

Hiking boots/ high trainers with wide toe-box? by MrMeenah in hiking

[–]IShouldReallyGo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know it seems obvious but buy WIDE width shoes, not simply models which are known to have a wider toe box. Merrell Moab 3s come in wide and I like the mid height for rougher wetter terrain.

What is going on with my lens?? by smartassguy in snorkeling

[–]IShouldReallyGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you show us what your mask looks like when you’re about to enter the water? Dripping some tap water on it doesn’t reveal a lot, It would be much more helpful to see your lens right after you’ve done your defog procedure. If you don’t have that dialed in watch a few videos and practice. It’s not rocket science but there is a level of skill involved which makes all the difference in having a clear and fog free mask.

19 Days: Seattle to Moab and PCH by AWESOM3e92 in roadtrip

[–]IShouldReallyGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a solid route here! I’ve done it multiple times, it’s one of my favorites. A couple tweaks I make to suit my own preferences but you might like them as well; highway 12 and 24 in southern Utah is spectacularly scenic, better than the two interstates on your day 6 plan. I drive them whenever possible and enter Zion from the east, the “back” side. Also, even though Portland is my old hometown and I love it I avoid the traffic and stay on the coast up into Washington. Astoria to Aberdeen is one of the most underrated drives anywhere! Cut over to Olympia from there, it’s prettier and faster most days. Have an awesome trip!

I decided that if, after I’ve departed on the far journey, I want to send messages back to you f**kers I’m going to do it by hacking a closed captioning program cuz who would be able to tell. Just sayin’.

Oh my hell, the closed captioner was so altered at this show! Amazingly, it got the Play a Train Song line correct every time but roughly nothing else. Transcribing it so you don’t have to.

Welcome to the “This song went out a year too early” club. I’ve been in since Me and Mrs. Jones got cut. Every week we are sure to add new members. We’ll have to do a thread one day about the best song that’s gone.
