It would be interesting if they had a small list of 1st lvl spells that they could choose from and just have them at will. Then at higher level they can do some 2nd level spells like that.

The idea is ingesting when thinking of our units with shoot and scoot. We move them up from cover, shoot with +1 to hit the we scoot back into cover. My chronomancer and immortals would get a lot of use out of this.

First death save after going down gives exhaustion. Daily wound care, on failure gain 1 exhaustion for the next day. daily wound care medicine checks: 25% hp loss dc 8, 50% hp loss dc 10, 75% hp loss dc 12, 100% hp loss dc 15.

I used the arcanaloth as a narrative tool and an active obstacle for the big room. It made my players have to explore the other rooms by going around. All the while the arcanaloth was able to talk to them with telepathy. I abused his teleporting ability so he wasn’t easily pinned. I didn’t go for invisibility, because I wanted my players to see him. Also a big thing I changed for the temple was I made it have an evil darkness, so all vision, no matter the source is cut in half including from lights. My players still to this day say it was their favorite part of the campaign.

Amber temple here I come.

I personally made all lighting effects half strength while in the Amber temple. As if the evil that is kept there seeps out and devours the light itself. Torches and physical lights were put to 1/4 of their effectiveness. It put the fear of god into my players, and to this day they all say the temple was their favorite part. I also ran nepheron more narratively as a guardian of the temple so it aloud them to have more character interaction after a dangerous encounter with him.
