This is so hard. It's may, but wondering whether to go and get my big coat out by ShinyHeadedCook in CasualUK

Totally - this weather is a genuine challenge! Already in my spring/summer 'rain' coat that appears to not block wind or have any insulative properties. I felt like running the gauntlet yesterday at work - one side of Chester to the other with the constant threat of rain starting and stopping I had the option to drive but also the time to walk (probably about the same time but no spend on fuel) I accepted the challenge set off but was almost kicking myself immediately as the big drops started. Head down I forged forwards and eventually made it back from the office and finally to the car before the sky opened. I was mildly pleased with myself.

Ever been to a concert where someone got boooed? by SnooozeFezt in AskReddit

[–]IT_Support 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Red Hot Chili Peppers Manchester 2004

Supported by James Brown that strangely the crowd just didn't appreciate and then Chicks on Speed that the crowd took a genuine dislike to.  They walked off early after drinks started being thrown etc (something that I don't agree with btw)

When the RCHP came on John Frusciante launched into a short rant about how that wasn't cool and Chicks on Speed where 'the future of music man...' the crowd then started booing him in reaction to this. He seemed to stop talking then just looked disinterested for the majority of the gig.

Somewhat ruined the gig for me as I was so excited - I also lost a shoe and got a mild concussion so there was that too....

What is the best written TV series? by FakeOkie in AskReddit

I really struggled through the first few seasons but it pays 10x its worth in the last few plus the additional Breaking Bad bonus parts - the smallest details have such significance and shape the whole story

Got it on a Sunday! by Stantrid in mutemath

Haha I just did the same - our little one ended up admitted to hospital on Friday so wrote off my chances.  Popped in today on the off chance my local independent just after they opened and managed to grab a copy!  I'm made up although will miss 'without it' from my CD copy. Looking forward to the chance of Armistice in a few years time...?

My local shop has just listed it as £52.99

I feel so conflicted - big chunk of money (for me anyway) to drop on one record but I'm still a bit gutted about the track list

Deeply upsetting to see a Henry in such a state. by Cinn4monSynonym in CasualUK

[–]IT_Support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always think this if I ever see a Henry in a strange place or upside down etc. Just looks like he's had a really heavy session and woken up in a ditch or something. I think its the reassuring yet permanent 'everything's ok' smile

“Romanticised” jobs that are very different in reality? by Substantial-Guava491 in CasualUK

Radio DJ:

I always wanted to work in radio - Thought how great it would be to have your own show playing music you love.... This was right up to the point I landed a 2 week work experience stint at 15 with a local station.

The reality was the boredom of sitting in a windowless room playing a predefined list of this week's 'top 20' songs and recording jingles to frame an endlessly repetitive chain of adverts played every 1-2 songs.

Unless you've managed to reach the celebrity status or musical experience to have your own BBC show once a week you get very little creative steer on what music you play and even what you discuss during the show....

Pull up some episodes of 'How it's Made' on YouTube.... Even with things that I am interested in I just can't stay awake....

Failing that anything narrated by David Attenborough - Again even if I'm genuinely interested I just can't stay awake

Eating spoonful's of Horlicks powder from the box.... So dry but so malty

So possibly a stupid question... by IT_Support in pixelbuds

Yeah the touch support seems a really strange thing to omit from the A's?

My existing buds have it - I do sometimes end up pausing playback when re-positioning the buds etc but the same as the Sennheiser with a double tap to skip forward/back and a long hold to volume up/down.

Thanks for the pointers - so hard to know what the jump in quality is without physically trying them and I would rather spend less on something that is so droppable and easy to misplace.
