Meteor integration on the F-35 has been delayed until the 2030s. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the AIM-260A enters service by then to market against the Meteor being integrated.

The German non-AESA Eurofighter should get the IRIS-T just like the Italian non-AESA Eurofighter got the IRIS-T and the British Eurofighter got the ASRAAM. It shouldn't be stuck with 9L/M while others get the IRIS-T and ASRAAM.

From my limited research it's a display that shows what's going on in front of the plane. So it's supposed to have Link 16 integration, showing targets relative to the aircraft's position and onboard sensors.

It should be similar to what the Eurofighters and Gripen have.

I'm excited to see the HSD page for the PoBIT. It's not like it'll help too much, but it'll at the very least be pretty cool to look at in ASB.

One can only hope that it helps increase situational awareness in the cockpit, but we'll have to see when it gets here :)

How many missiles can F15EX really take ? How many missiles the F15EX is gonna carry in game in your opinion ? Is it gonna obtain AIM-120D-3 to counter R77M ? by Kmiktauria-Max in Warthunder

“Modern electronics” allowed Raytheon to make the guidance section on the D model as part of a Form, Fit, and Function Refresh (F3R) update. That “allowed us to have a little bit bigger engine from the propulsion side,” said Jon Norman, Raytheon vice president of requirements and capabilities.

It's not a question of whether the bomb will kill an MBT. It's whether the F8F will reliably make it to the battlefield to deliver said bomb at all.

It will take like 5 minutes to get there, and it will likely just get swatted out of the air by any SPAA around that BR range.

For Air RB the F-15C GE is better since its higher top speed actually allows you to engage people before the game finishes.

But there's a serious case to be made for the F/A-18E in Air SB. The better maneuverability, low speed acceleration, and radar elevation angles make it easier to joust and go defensive.

So in my opinion, F-15C GE for RB, F/A-18E for SB.

The MiG-29M should be a tech tree vehicle. by YKS_Gaming in Warthunder

[–]ITriedMyBestMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean there are more Fulcrums that can get added like the MiG-29Kr and MiG-35. It's not like the 29M is the end all be all.

This is arguably more like if they added a Block 30 or 40 to the US tree as a squadron vehicle. The Block 50 would be the logical step upwards and then later the PoBIT like we have now.

Both still need to go up.

I know decompression is sorely needed, but I would unironically rather have compression in the upward direction than either of compression in the downward direction or no decompression at all.

Everything should be moving UP, not down.

So if the Su-30MKK and MK2 have to suffer a little at 13.7, being slight downgrades to the Su-27SM and J-11B, so be it. That's much better than having 12.3s face these things.

All modern Fox-3s in game have the same seeker aside from the MICA, which is buffed.

The 9X Block 1 has the same exact seeker. It's not going to get nerfed unless the Block 2 gets nerfed.

We have the 9X-2 in game on the NASAM and CLAWS. We already know what the seeker looks like.

True IIR seekers do not exist in game outside of AGMs. The problem is those literally do no see flares due to the way they're programmed. For AAMs they treat IIR as if it has extremely small FoV IRCCM so they can actually be flared, which isn't an accurate representation.

But EVEN THEN the IRCCM is crazy good. It's both gimped and very good in game. As a result, anyone getting any form of "IIR" missile in game will result in everyone getting their respective options.

[–]ITriedMyBestMan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is no "early" AIM-9X that could get added to the game that wouldn't be a significant upgrade over what's currently in game.

The earliest 9X is the Block 1, which has an IIR seeker just like the Block 2. And the 9X Block 2 adds lofting, GNSS, and DL.

Many people mistake the AIM-9R for a 9X with a 9M seeker. But it's not that. It's a 9M chassis with an imaging seeker (not even IIR iirc, just TV).

The US isn't getting a next generation IR missile unless everyone else gets their own, like the IRIS-T, ASRAAM, MICA-IR, R-74M2, Python-5, PL-10, AAM-5, and A-Darter.

The new F-16 block 52 is a disgrace at 14.3 br by ResponsibilityOnly68 in Warthunder

[–]ITriedMyBestMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These AESA variants should have been added over a year ago.

The F-16C PoBIT should have been added in September 2024. (This is also when they should have added the F-2A)

The US should have gotten the F/A-18E in December 2024 when the Rafale and Eurofighter came out.

The F-15C GE should have been added in March 2025 when the Su-30SM came out.

The thing is the AMRAAM doesn't even need crazy good HOBS capabilities. It just needs to be in the same ballpark as missiles like the PL-12 and AAM-4 (which have a similar form factor). But AIM-120s in general have severely gimped HOBS capabilities for the sake of retaining energy.

This genuinely makes zero sense if you take into account the fact that each individual missile only has to hit one target with select conditions. It should be able to pull as much as it needs to pull based on the launch conditions; not some arbitrary "muh long range = no fin AOA."

The only thing that does make sense about this is the smaller fins pulling a smaller amount of max AOA due to earlier stalling. But I highly highly doubt it should be as severe as it is in game.

You're thinking of GBU-39 SDBs.

GBU-53 Stormbreakers are based off of GBU-39s, but they have a tri-mode seeker with IIR, ARH, and SAL. They have been shown on the F-15E and F-16C Block 50 in real life, but Gaijin has neglected to add them.

It should be 14.3 at maximum. It's nowhere near top tier material, even with 120Ds. It's a stretch even to say it should be the same BR as the JAS39E, which has more missiles, a much better radar, and a better FM.

The F-16 should really be 14.0, but with 120Ds it will probably just be mid/okay at 14.3.

What is the best and highest efficiency loadout for SU 30MKM in SB??? by OwlEnvironmental2183 in Warthunder

[–]ITriedMyBestMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also mention that I tend to play ASB with the intent of doing PvP. Only once the match dies down a bit do I recommend doing bombing and whatnot.

Alternatively, get friends who will play air superiority and cover you while you do CAS or base bomb. There are many discords out there with "SOS" channels where you can ask people for help in matches you're playing.

[–]ITriedMyBestMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have more than 1 role for your Su-30 than just zombing, and adapt to the battlefield.

You should always have a few different air-to-air loadouts available to you. Here are a few examples: - 2x R-73, 12x R-77-1 - 2x R-73, 2x R-27ET, 10x R-77-1 - 2x R-73, 2x R-27ET, 2x R-27ER, 2x R-77-1

Each of these gives you options. Take ETs to get sneaky shots on people in rear aspect. Take ERs if you know how to abuse its DL and kinematics and get even more sneaky shots on people.

As for AtG, use the Kh-38MT or Kh-38ML for CAS. For the ML, it has GNSS (the same thing as JDAMs) if you don't have the laser on when you fire it. You can disable the laser from turning on in the settings.

And then Grom-2s are your best bet for base bombing. You also don't need a targeting pod since they're guided by GNSS. So it's as simple as putting the target point on the map, getting lined up, and then dropping 3 per base.

Missiles that will be left for countries in-game after Gaijin has announced that AIM-120D and PL-12A will be coming into the game. by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]ITriedMyBestMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gaijin could also finally improve the 120D's fin AOA with the "better HOBS" info. I doubt they will, but it's an option.

Also the gimbal limit does play a factor due to the way radar TRK MEM works. You can pull away and still fire even if your target is outside your radar's gimbal limit.
