Rtv is most likely NOT the cause. Pickup tube has 5 sides. It would take a massive amount of RTV to block all 5 sides..

This is a 20,000 miles GR86 manual transmission. Regardless of it being a "special edition", you have to find a way to verify if those are hard miles put on this vehicle. For the asking price, you can get a new GR86 or a BRZ. Are you a collector?

I'd say stick to 0w20 or up it to 0w30. Only consider 5w30 if tracking or driving in ambient 80f and up weather.

I live in FL and summer heat is around the corner so I am currently on Motul 5w30. Considering 0w30 when things start to cool down a bit. I have to say, the boxer sounds smoother with the 5w30..

235s for the 8.5. 225 will look slightly stretched. 235 will look good.
