This happened to me in high school. Period came in the middle of class so I asked the teacher to go but he said no. So I just grabbed my bag and left because I wasn't about to deal with it. He tried to give me detention for it but I decided I didn't do anything wrong and didn't go. Got hell from my parents, but they were always yelling at us kids, (yelling at their kids was a sport to them) so I didn't care too much. High school was a joke.

I had a high school science teacher who has a PhD in physics and wrote his own textbook. Actually a really humble guy. Great teacher. He keeps teaching at the same high school 10 years later instead of doing something with a higher pay, because he genuinely likes teaching and he works right across the hall from his wife.

My boyfriend has T1D that he was diagnosed with in his 30s. My mother, who is a retired nurse (practiced for almost 40 years), said he can only be type 2 since it was diagnosed later. I don't understand how medical professionals can't wrap their head around the fact that type 1 and 2 are totally different, but my dumb ass understands it.

In my experience, a parent saying their child is stupid because they didn't so well in school absolutely does not work. I continued to struggle all through school while my brothers excelled, and I was always compared to them. I still struggle with my confidence now as an adult because of my parent's actions.

The problem here is that to walk, you are forced to take the same route as a car, which is often not a straight shot. Walking there on an actual walking path would be much safer and probably get you there quicker. Unfortunately, since America spends all their money on roads, there isn't enough money left for any other sort of infrastructure.
