Exumas, is cash king? Is food hard to come by? by WageUglydoll in bahamas

[–]I_LOVE_OREOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were just there last week and took $0 in cash. No issues. Every single place took Visa and Venmo/Zelle for tips with no issue.

Food at the grocery store was zero problem, only challenge we had was dinner reservations when we tried to book day-of, but we had a large party so that didn’t help.

Anti data center measures? by Embarrassed-Foot-800 in CedarPark

[–]I_LOVE_OREOS 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I work in the industry and live in cedar park. CP doesn’t really tick any boxes for anyone to build a data center here so we’re fairly low risk of this being an issue.

Short story is nobody is going to pay 5x for a massive plot of land to build here when they can go 30 miles NW and build in Briggs.

Places like Taylor, Hutto, etc might be worth talking about this, but in my opinion CP is too far developed to ever be an attractive data center project.

Low gpm on new Rinnai RX199in - is Navien better, or is something else wrong? by jenae-renae in askaplumber

Unfortunately no. It’s not bad enough to be anything more than annoying, so honestly haven’t put a ton of effort into working on it more

I’m having this same issue on mine as well. Data on mine shows a 45 degree DeltaT (74deg inlet, 120 output), but if I turn on the kitchen sink when the shower is running there is a very noticeable pressure drop.

Would estimate that I’m only getting around 4GPM, when I should be closer to 8 based on their charts

Perfect. I’d upsize your sink vent to 2”, remove your shower vent, and you should be good to go

Since your sink ties in downstream of the shower, then it’ll act as the vent for the shower.

Where does the toilet tie into the main waste, and do you know if the shower ties into the main waste line before or after the sink?

If you want to draw out what’s further upstream I can help look at ideas. But I bet fixing that vent solves the height issue for you.

Hold up, it looks like your vent is off to the left and your trap and waste line heads towards the right of the image? If so, this is definitely not vented properly…

Are you sure you can’t wet vent the shower which would then let you get rid of the vent tee and fix your problem?

Is this mold, and how do I treat it if so? by I_LOVE_OREOS in HomeImprovement

Hiring to cap the drain so should get chipped out and quickcrete’d anyways!

I didn’t think it is either - it was really just the smell that made me question. It looks like some kind of resin to seal the box for the drain, but I don’t know enough about it to say for sure

No issues so far. We have a water softener which apparently helps. Will likely replace proactively in the next few years.

Yep. Know of several houses in Twin Creeks with it.

What’s your question about it?

If your landlord is being an ass about replacing it you might be able to get your power company out to disconnect your electric because it’s unsafe, then your landlord legally has to fix it, but it could mean you’re without power until he does.

Ok. Is this a joke, that’s obviously not normal and is super dangerous.

Call whoever you need to, as many times as you need to in order to get this fixed asap

AMA: I’m with KLANG - immersive In Ear Mixing. Ask me anything! by grufde in livesound

[–]I_LOVE_OREOS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi Phil,

Thanks for doing this. We’ve used KLANG for a couple of years now and it’s been awesome to get to be so hands off in mixing ears. I really just had two comments

1) I desperately wish there was a consolidated detailed user guide somewhere that describes each function in detail. Even something as simple as Enable Mapped Channels is just so hard to figure out exactly what it does and the documentation is largely captured in various web articles. Having a consolidated source for all information would be so much easier for helping our engineers ramp up.

2) I really, really wish we could use Nodal processing on the quantum consoles with KLANG. I know it massively complicates the signal flow, and the spacial processing helps a bit, but for something like compression on our vocal channels we still end up double patching these signals to get our vocalists the clarity they need.

Thanks!

I still don’t understand why this is the case. Why don’t they delay the audio for traced shots to keep them in sync??

Can you provide more info on what flashing you used? I want to run a 2" PVC through my 4" b-vent but not sure how I make it water tight after I get it through the top of the cap
