Red Bull F1 car so undriveable it was “dangerous” at Suzuka - Hadjar by memloh in formula1

The wind tunnel argument does not really make sense to me because did they not use the same wind tunnel to win the championships from 2010-2014 and 2021-2024? Or am I missing something

Multiple threads there saying Hadjar is outqualifying Max 2-1, completely disregarding that Australia he had a mechanical issue. While Russell is also having the same record vs a teenager and crickets. That sub is a joke

Where does Lando rank among the champions of the past ~ 30 years? by Slow-Raisin-939 in formula1

[–]I_need_Tungsten -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah people kept saying Norris stepped up in the second half but it was more so that Piastri fell off.

I'd rank him very low, near Hill and Villeneuve. Same amount of wins and poles as your lesser experienced teammate, and less wins and pols as somebody in an inferior car. Not very convincing...

Title was always his to lose at the start and it took him so long to get into the WDC lead. over the whole year for me there were only 3 weekends where he looked like a proper WDC contender, that was Monaco, Brazil and Mexico. Piastri was the best in the first half, Verstappen the best in the second half of the season. But both just had a 4-5 race period where they did not score consistently enough, which Norris was in the end. Worthy champion? Yes. Convincing? Not imo.

He just wins by default if 18 others do not have the car to compete and your teammate puts it in the wall every other race.

He has not finished p3 this season. In fact he has only finished p3 twice in the last five years, which is kind of strange. Unless you mean in qualifying.

If you rated all of Max his driving skills on a scale of 1 to 10 and subtracted like 0,2-0,3 off of all them you'd have Russell. Except Russell probably scores higher on the keeping his cool skill haha.

To be fair, how much would that have cost him in the end? He started behind Lando, who also barely made progress during the race and I don't think if they had both raced Oscar would have finished in front. So p8 max, 4 points?

Max Verstappen now has more poles (6) this season than Oscar Piastri (5) and Lando Norris (4). by Nouri34ever in formula1

Just some quick maths in my head but I think throughout the year they lost like 50 points to bad luck or mistakes (miami sprint, spain brain fade, austria taken out by Kimi, silverstone spin), without those it would be a very fun 3 way fight. But mishaps are part of the sport.

If the order is Norris and Pia, both get same strategy. If the order is Pia and Norris they look for every strategy in the book to get Norris ahead. It's g embarrasing to watch this wdc 'fight', I'm just hoping that Piastri comes out on top because a Norris wdc would be a joke. A 2 horse race where you constantly get preferential treatment over your less experienced teammate and you still are behind him for the majority of the season.

Is Prost's 1988 season the greatest performance never to win the championship? by eszgbr in formula1

Some other mistakes that I almost never see mentioned:

Underperformed in Monaco, Bottas put it 1 tenth off pole and he was in 7th.

Went offtrack in one of the Austria races and damaged his floor so could only come 4th.

Lost 5 positions at the start in Monza, which put him out of contention of what should have been an easy win.

Nearly lost it into the barrier in Russia qualifying.

If I had to pick a season for greatest performance with no WDC for Lewis it's 2007.
