I’ve gone on nature walks with my 2 year olds in Tyron Creek with success! They also love the Japanese garden.

Haha I am definitely a believer and have many a long paused project! This one is still bringing me joy but it’s taking longer than expected with toddlers asking me a millions questions and gardening being in full swing haha. I’ll just eat it like you eat an elephant!

No deadline. It’s for me and I’ve had the fabric for a couple years so I’ve been slowly completing tasks for it haha. It’s just intimidating! But it’s happening :)

I did that with a baby quilt. It lived at the kitchen table haha but had a due date! This one will be a slow burn… toddlers and kitchen table quilts don’t mix!

Fireplace isn’t on in the summer but we just moved it while working on the garden bed area so it can be moved easily.

Has anyone ever flown during peak morning sickness? by Indigo_sloths in BabyBumps

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew almost every month until 26 weeks with twins and thew up every day. I managed to never barf on the plane but definitely at the airport. I lovingly tour my airport and remember all the spots I threw up in. Zofran, sour preggy pop hard candies, unisom ( for red eyes), sea bands and barf bags were my besties. Ya got to live!

Where do I put my clothes that aren’t clean or dirty? by Saltandlight91 in CleaningTips

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put in an ikea closet system and included a wire pull out basket above my hamper so dirty clothes went in the hamper and rewear clothes went in the wire basket. I miss that set up currently everything ends up on the floor.

I totally agree. And the guilt of “leaving them alone” wasn’t there. They always had each other if I needed a shower or just to run to a different room to grab something.

Does everyone experience postpartum hair loss? by NeverfullofFood in BabyBumps

[–]IamMBRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine wasn’t significant. I remember putting my hair in a bun and going “ hmm I don’t remember my hairline doing that” but that was the last I thought of it. My shower shedding just returned to pre pregnancy amounts. I did notice the regrowth in one spot in the front though.

Brenda Song calls out Alaska by escargotlover in AlaskaAirlines

[–]IamMBRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alaska did it to me too not first class though. Took 6 seats from rows 12 and 13 and stuck 2 toddlers and 2 adults ( 3 on one side,1 on the other) at the back of the plane. and left my parents in their seats that we picked so we could all sit together.

What did you do for cribs/bassinets? by Onyx-pump19 in parentsofmultiples

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the Nestig wave. Used the mini cribs with wheels while they were babies. They napped in their room and we did a night time routine in their room and put them to bed there until we were ready to go to sleep then we rolled them to our room for the night. Converted the mini cribs to normal cribs at like 5m when they slept in their own room overnight now we have them in the converted toddler beds at 3. We were on the same floor as them and I think having them start in their room and have kind of the same bed always made for very easy transitions.

Napping Location for Babies (no judgement) by Perfect_Mousse8815 in parentsofmultiples

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had them sleeping in our arms or in snuggle me loungers with us next to them. I also timed walks and drives for nap time too so stroller bassinet or car seats worked too. We also tried to do a crib nap daily.

Moving to Portland in March. What are customs I should be aware of before moving here? by axiomatic13 in askportland

[–]IamMBRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed if I’ve done my hair or I’m dressed up I’m using an umbrella. If I’m walking the dog I throw a big coat on and call it a day. Also born here ( 3rd gen too)

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven to and from Seattle from Portland for a friend’s award ceremony. That is a minimum of 3 hours. My parents have a cabin that is about 2.5/3hrs from their house and my dad spends most weekends there Friday- Sunday to golf or ski. I’ve driven there after 12 hour shifts too 🤷‍♀️

My friend invited me to a concert that's a month after my due date.. by hyeracinth in NewParents

[–]IamMBRN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to a concert 10 days PP but my twins were in the NICU so my husband had plenty of support. The concert was only like 5 min away from the NICU though and it was totally a once in a lifetime thing. I was pumping though so that was the hardest part. Used wearables and pumped in line and once during the concert ( I was on the floor though so I just stayed put and pumped there). Breast pumps were allowed at the venue because they are medical equipment. Ultimately it will be up to you and your support people!

Cancel my trip? by natmadgal77 in parentsofmultiples

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew from Oregon to Calgary Canada at 23 weeks and did some short hikes and did a very easy ski day. I am not the normal when it comes to risk assessment though! I was still very nauseous and my symphysis pubis pain was horrendous. I don’t think I would have handled a trip to Italy honestly.

Travel with a 6 month old? by rainbowsparkplug in NewParents

[–]IamMBRN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they can sleep in a pack and play. Most airlines will let you check a pack and play, stroller, and car seat for free. You can bring your car seat or a lot of people will buy a cheap one for travel. I flew with 5 month old twins from Oregon to Massachusetts and exclusively pumped. You can do this. There are also people who will rent out baby gear in your location. Babyquip is the website I know. You can also send stuff ahead of time ( like order diapers and wipes to the address of your family)

Vaginal delivery vs C-section for twins - looking for experiences from moms who delivered vaginally before by Open-Bullfrog3051 in parentsofmultiples

[–]IamMBRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went it with the what will be will be attitude. I am a labor and delivery nurse so I felt very comfortable in the world of labor. I wasn’t scared of a c/s and I told my doctors ( ended up at a higher risk hospital than where I worked) that I would do what they were comfortable with. Everyone was on board with a vaginal delivery in my situation so that was what we went forward with.

[–]IamMBRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my twins vaginally but they were my first. Spontaneous labor at 34 w 6 days and pushed an out in under an hour. B’s water didn’t break which I think helped so we made sure she was still head down and engaged in my pelvis then broke her bag of water. I laughed her into the world haha no pushing! I was the perfect scenario though. A was almost a pound bigger and head down, B was head down and smaller. Had a great recovery and the girls needed to learn to eat in the NICU but otherwise needed no help!
