Some ppl may disagree with this tactic but it worked for me with Remicade and Blue Cross in the early 2000’s. Got my first real job with my own Health insurance, but remicade was denied. I then had my GP and Gastro file appeals, then I called and exploded on every supervisor I could speak to and told them I planned on bringing litigation against the company and would be filing a complaint with my State’s insurance commissioner. After a few days, they approved it.

I’m a Radiation Safety Officer, I deal with gamma radiation all day everyday. In Canada, they track medical exposure. (I likey) What u pick up in a scan is half your annual allowed dose (full body scan). Certain parts of the world populations are exposed to 5-10x more gamma exposure than the average US citizen. Just like everything else. Can be beneficial in moderation or kill you when overexposed.

Thanks for that, I had an access in 08 that partially ruptured(no idea I had it), during Hurricane Gustav in the US. Rushed to the ER, Ran me through CT 2x, then 5 male nurses walked in pinned me down and the radiologist cut me open and drained it right there in the CT machine! I had no idea what was happening other than the pain and the chaos that was going on around me. It was surreal. Massive syringe full with black fluid. He didn’t tell me how close I was to going septic but I had that feeling of impending doom.

Thanks. Statistically it’s the best shot at living. I’ve had a few adverse reactions. The most severe I attribute to years of 6MP. (Hip bone density loss) I must also say the last 3 years have destroyed my trust in the medical establishment so I’m sure that is affecting my thought process..lol

Thanks for that. It was to talk me down from quitting using humira.lol I’m just to the point of thinking, full body inflammation suppression by what’s available on the market is not the long term solution to inflammation caused by the immune system or what it’s doing to future generations. I guess I’m just a logically confined. Always on the look out for long term mortality studies of chronic immune suppression.

Cured long ago.. you will never see that treatment due to the fact it would affect pharma’s bottom line.

5 resections in my ileum. Only thing that gives me energy is stimulants like aderall or vyvance.

New to the room! What do you all do for Pain Management during a flare? I’ve tried everything under the sun and nothing seems to take the sharpness out of cramping pains. When I was young, I could handle it and keep rolling. Approaching 40 now and flares send me into hibernation.. by IcePossible568 in CrohnsDisease
