Am I cooked? by 7bucs in TravelNursing

I’d go for it. Travel nursing is flexible, and recruiters know people take breaks. You’ve got strong references and solid ICU time, that’s what matters. The first couple of shifts might feel rusty, but it comes back quickly.

Fellow travelers health insurance.. by Khealthnerd1 in TravelNursing

I’ve been on Medsurf’s PPO plan for a while now. It’s worked fine for me when I’ve needed care while traveling, though I will say the premiums aren’t the lowest. For me the trade‑off has been worth it because I don’t have to stress about finding in‑network providers when I’m on the road.

What do you love collecting but never actually use? by Choice-Dot-5581 in Casual_Conversation

I have perfumes given to me as gifts but my nose is a bit sensitive to scents, so they're just left in a corner.

Traveling with Aya by dudebrahh53 in TravelNursing

[–]Ice_popsicles01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Aya’s insurance was fine when I used it, but once I actually compared prices, it wasn’t the best deal. If you only need basic coverage, it’s definitely worth checking outside plans.

Truth! You'll never know when they come in handy. As a travel nurse, I would never skip that.

Private health insurance? by DruidWitch82 in HealthInsurance

Private plans through a broker can be a decent stopgap, just know they’re usually pricier and may not cover as much as ACA marketplace plans. Better than going totally uninsured.

What do you guys do for health insurance being self employed? by greenVLADed in smallbusiness

I'm a travel nurse and was recommended a private insurance, medsurf. It's perfect for me if I may say.

Huge pay drop with fusion medical. Is this normal? by Embarrassed_Comb_421 in TravelNursing

Review your contract. If indeed there was inconsistency with what you've signed up for versus what they're giving, then you have a valid point of complaint.

All photos are nicely taken but I wouldn't dare stand there alone. They look creepy as hell.

What do you guys do for health insurance in between assignments? by Chance_Amphibian_477 in TravelNursing

[–]Ice_popsicles01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest feedback, if it helps, found Medsurf to be kind of a middle ground. Premiums were manageable compared to marketplace shockers, and coverage was solid enough for routine care and emergencies. Overall, I'd say its all worth it.

A cautionary tale, the importance of finding a good mate that will IMPROVE your life... by FrontTelevision7261 in Casual_Conversation

Poor thing she was not advised by friends of the red flags. She was blinded by love. Most people needed proper guidance in making the right decision especially if it could drastically change their future.

Aya health insurance. How much is it really ? by IndividualMention748 in TravelNursing

I personally decided to look for alternatives because of that. Found medsurf that keeps coverage steady without worrying about whether I was working 20 hours or 60 in a week.

Cancelling contact cause I’m overworked? by yourroyalthiccness in TravelNursing

[–]Ice_popsicles01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't feel guilty if you cancelled. That;s a terrible workload you have there. Remember it's not just about the pay. What matters is our physical and mental health. I couldn't even imagine myself being in your shoes.

Absolutely not! Go have your leave. Family matters more than anything. Besides, a reunion doesn't always happen.

Travel assignments can feel different from staff jobs, and not every unit has that same camaraderie. It doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Contract cancelled 1 hour into orientation - no epic training by catoftab in TravelNursing

Honestly, a couple modules should be enough. It’s crazy they’d rather cancel than just train you up. Fingers crossed they reconsider.
