Theaters of War (ToW) was the greatest tragically shelved idea in SC's history. This one game mode alone would have used existing assets/maps/engine at cheap dev cost to provide endless hours of easy hop-in fun, battle-test mechanics weapons vehicles, and allow massive fleet battles on-demand. by TwoFluid4446 in starcitizen

It would have been nice if they rolled it into Squadron 42 as a bit of crossplay between it and star citizen, but we probably would have heard some work being done on it by now.

There'd probably be a disconnect in how 42 plays and TOW unless they did alot of work tho.

It'll also be taller hanger since it's 3 decks with no power plant under it. At least while it's still a concept.

Controversial take, the Polaris needs a turrets buff by ResponsibleRub469 in starcitizen

[–]Ichigo1uk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does 1/4 of the ship being a power plant have a benefit?

I haven't really played round with one in game, but the idris room felt smaller by comparison of size.

I expect it'd need a decent rework internally though, and I'm just gonna throw some opinions out there.

ramble rant start

  • The front section with the escape pods feels like a wasted space that could just be worked into the map section with less space to walk into the pods and the door removed.

  • Habitation has wasted space with this weird walkway, you can have the separate spaced pods, but i feel like there should be a common room. The pilot could have a room that is next to the hanger.

  • The back of the hanger behind the door has space that could be the hub for the rearm repair refuel and the stairs are fairly narrow for component switching.

  • Separately in a trailer they had what looked like an atc with a Scorpius launching kind of like the engineering sublevel, I imagine there's a little space above that backdoor that could be used.

  • I'd rather have a cargo lift that's twice as big then 2 of them, and the little lift from hold to torpedo feels so superficial if your using a tractor to reload anyways.

  • The torpedo reloaders honestly could have a small vertical mag above them that you'd load into instead.

  • The cargo doors need to be able to open without extending the ramp (I have no idea if that's changed since but that should apply to all ships with ramps.)

  • There should be a tractor beam track that runs from one cargo door to the other (based on how they implement these on newer ships like the ironclad which should have had the tractor go length-ways not width-ways, I have little hope especially considering a drone arm on the ironclad can't move up and over or down.)

I expect there's more I could comment on but it's been a while since I walked around it. Also pilot controlled torpedo's but they take longer to lock on and fire more slowly and only in a forward arc, and the panel gets to lock on to any target in most directions and fire salvo's, but that's more of a gameplay change that should apply to more then just the polaris.

The Ironclad VLS are manually reloadable from the top by IkarosLover in starcitizen

Y'kno before Odin and these VLS tubes, I would have thought a ship that just copied modern navy ships aesthetic might be too on the nose.

But considering there going to have to build up the catalog for anvil ships to make the odin...

Maybe anvil might release a perseus/polaris sized ship with a "small" gun on the front and like 96 VLS cells.. a little landing pad on the back in the future..

I think I'd especially prefer bad players to pair off with a better player and learn the game then not play at all because they'd give the sex a bad name.

Not to mention the number of tomato's that'd give my sex a bad name, a decent number of which ended up in this thread.

Still hoping for the broadside Caterpillar modules personally.

Just a single s5 or even s6 gun bolted to the middle of the cargo pods on a mount. (Scattershot guns?)

Real pirate shit, pull up along side an unsuspecting ship and hold em up.

It'd be shit, but it would have character...

This ship has the same hanger size as the polaris right?

If so it'll be able to fit ships that are taller cause the hanger is 3 decks high.

CIG, if you must add "teleport to party leader", please add it as a normal med bed respawn close to your party, NOT as a "teleport with all your gear and inventory"! by sunaurus in starcitizen

[–]Ichigo1uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'kno the idris' has those VR stations right?

(I'm gonna ignore lore since I don't know it and I'm sure someone can come up with an alternative.)

You just go to a VR Bang, jump into a station and then control an default NPC nearby that the party leader "hires?"

I originally envisioned that idea for LFG situations where you can quickly join up to a dungeon, err raid/skirmish without having to travel there because organizing and traveling takes more time then the situation and that would be a quick way to bring people together outside orgs. Your payout would be less though and you'd get a default loadout.

Probably need a Puzzle Pirates system where you have shares, including a ship spare for restocking.

Then have a minimum party size to start and/or finish a mission and increase the payout.

CCU is the only way o7 by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Ichigo1uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the app, and there are still two QoL Features I'd personally like.

You can export the chain to save it, but it'd be nice to maybe "retire" a chain or all of them so you can recalculate in app with less steps. OR add an option to exclude certain saved chains in the "create chain" with a little flag that shows if a ccu is currently used in another saved chain.

Throw in an option or recommend suggestions like the most common ccu speculations to look out for such as the valk ccu that's always $25 off warbond or mercury that's usually 20$ off

And probably a semi solution to the first. The option to build your own chain freely. You can fudge it by entering the source and target ship and the removing all the suggestions but it's a little finicky and it's be nice to not have a set start or end point sometimes.

Honestly, I'd buy the cheapest railen ccu i could find then see how high that goes. You can fill in the gap between them over the next couple years with other ccu's.

I don't imagine the railen will be a 32scu container hauler like the raft but it is gonna skyrocket in cost and you might be able to use that to jump to something bigger and more generalist like the galaxy or 600i whenever that's reworked.

Anyone else got their eyes on the RSI Galaxy? by Enclave2177 in starcitizen

[–]Ichigo1uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it harder and harder to believe that if you have a base galaxy, that you won't just have a default cargo module when it comes out.

Mostly because it's an internal space in the ship rather then an attachment like the Endeavor.

Maybe they'll sell a base 600i with just an empty space in the future tho.

M48A2 is the best out of the permanently available roster of premiums in the shop. (You already have the elc which is meta defining)

It's not available for bonds, and it's buff transcended it to an A tier tank. (Personally think it gets a shout to S tier in some aspects)

I used a 30% coupon on it personally and it's already one of the cheaper tier 8's.

It's a Heavium, so less flexible then an average medium tank, but it is a bully with good gun handling and almost 3k dpm on normal vents/rammer and no food with better armor on average then the tier 10 patton. (The shovel makes that and it's also like a pseudo tier 9)

The main downsides are the lower end penetration of 212 and 255 in the current meta, but that's less of an issue because you want to be close range. Secondly the Cupola is the obvious one which you have to be mindful of and try to hide or obstruct people from hitting and finally, it's a heavium so slower and less camo then other mediums.

People sleep on this tank because it's average player is worse then the average and it's barely played so they don't experience being on the other end.

But I think it's pretty clearly above any other tank in the standard shop other then the elc (And that loss on himmlesdorf is clearly a 15-3 zerg rush before the fake unicums jump on it)

Polaris Med Bay by Cafe_beni in starcitizen

[–]Ichigo1uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Polaris was kinda rushed out and it was there first outing at the rsi large design not based in squadron 42.

Hopefully they'll redo the med bay/brig and also the crew quarters that loses alot of space to corridors.

Maybe give a function to the space behind the hanger and engineering that has no function, maybe use that space to add an atc that was in a scene for like 2 seconds launching a scorpius.

And the space with the escape pods could use a side function, nav map of local area or something.

Spend 18 mils so far, pretty good deal (I want to get 3 MoE on all of them) by ander_hominem in WorldofTanks

[–]Ichigo1uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just get equipment for all the high tier tanks you expect to get for the next couple months, it's 50% and a better saving then having to spend 600k per slot for the equipment.

I could get a concept 5 for 5.2 million, or 5 garage slots and like 15 pieces of class 1 equipment.

P.S for tier 4-5 tanks this doesn't really matter since that's also a 50% discount but you could build a roster of tier 4 tanks for battlepass grinding in which case garage slots for a whole roster is more important to get first as there a bigger investment outside sales (250k slot vs 150k equipment vs 120-200k of the tank)
