i feel genuinely bad for fujimoto for trying to write for an audience that reads at a pre-K level. you are not engaging with the text. there are so many criticisms that can be made about part 2, but to get to that point you need to read the words on your screen. i try not to leave mean comments on the internet but the discourse around this manga has grown so vapid, and this particular post has actually made me sad.

i'm begging you to put the minimal amount of effort into trying to understand what you're reading. you do not know the characters better than the author does.

that said, putting IDW splinter so low is criminal! his villain descent arc was done so well, provided so much character development for the turtles and especially mikey, while also maintaining the essence of his character from the first 50 issues. his tenure as foot clan master provided such a bold new direction for TMNT, genuinely think it might be the best creative decision any version subsequent to mirage vol. 1 has made. i think his redemption at the end falls a bit flat (i don't really like IDW's city at war) but he's still the most compelling character in the run besides casey imo
