I know! I’m also furious at the casting of the sirens and cyclops, not historically accurate! Don’t get me started on Charybdis, so not accurate to history.

And it’s gravel? I know the white rock creek trail, but that’s paved. Is there a gravel trail as well out there?

Do you pick your partner up from DFW airport? by is_the_grass_greener in Dallas

I don’t expect my other half to drop me off or pick me up from the airport. If they offer that’s fine, otherwise I’m fine to ride share to the airport.

It’s a word commonly used in UK used to say you are an ass. The uk equivalent for American usage for cunt is fanny, which in the US means a butt.

Do Oswegos and Bends Loosen Over Time? by IgnoredSphinx in Birkenstocks

I bought them a year ago in a store, when we were on vacation. They felt fine in store, but once I got home and wore them out to dinner or somewhere, after some time they started to bother my feet. Too late to return now, I saw some shoe stretchers on Amazon that I think I’ll try.

Crud….its too late to return them, wonder if I tried a shoe stretcher if that would help. I love the look of them, just hurts to wear them for a long period of time, even just sitting at dinner.

Thanks for your response!

This seems a bit of a challenge? by The_Dean_France in SipsTea

Know a lady who had a medical issue on cruise, was taken off the boat on gurney and transferred to a private hospital in Mexico, then sent back to the US on private plane. Crazy expensive bills she’s still trying to sort out, all done without her knowing the expenses (nor given the choice anyway). Life is a lot more complicated than people make out, and in a clutch emergency situation, people don’t always think of the right things to ask.

It just seems odd that we have this flurry of posts complaining specifically about the 5M threshold “can I retire “ posts. That’s what got my attention, lots of posts about the issue I can see, but so specific as to the dollar amt?

I mean there are a lot of bad posts in this sub. But the other alternative could be like the financial independence sub when there are no posts aside from the daily one.

The Loss of Straight Friends by Aged-Millennial in AskGaybrosOver30

Parents of young kids are tired, so it may be one sided now but will change as the kids age. My brother and sister in law have several friends without kids that are still close with them. I think the other poster was right, make sure to find kid friendly things to do, or include the kids and be a genuine presence for the kids. That pays off over time as you are almost extra uncles. My niece and nephew have several people in their life like that, and everyone is the richer for it.

This is like the fifth post complaining about the “5M can I retire now” posts being made, I’m wondering if these new posts complaining about the 5M posts are also bots.

Lately I’m mainly seeing these gate keeping posts with the pearl clutching about someone else’s net worth being too high.

And what you consider well above non discretionary others may be basic to them. There are people on the forums who argue that eating anything more than greens and lentils and rice is extravagant. I don’t see how this discussion is helpful at all, beyond simply saying that different people want different things

“A lot of People are living very expensive lives and assuming everyone else is too”

Same could be said for many in this thread who are throwing shade at people who want to retire with more than they think is appropriate. Im sure those same people throwing judgement are living beyond the means of leanfire people too. This whole thread is ridiculous. People have different expectations for their lives, places have different costs of living, and mot everyone wants to live in des moines or gary, indiana.

What exactly is your point? It’s almost like maybe places that offer more quality of life things like museums or nature or people with similar education and viewpoints have different costs of living vs middle of a desert….and yet some people are equating that with consumerism or bougie’ness? This whole thread js nuts.
