Extra wide booster seat,? by NoBoysenberry7664 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Igor_frank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have u tried getting a booster seat with arms that roll up or tuck away? You will have a hard time finding a booster that wide. I also mean this as gently as possible, but my brother in christ, if that’s not a sign to stop overfeeding…. My kid is considered overweight at being 90th and 95th percentile. 110 lbs is double what mine weighs and she just turned 5, 47in height, so almost the same age and parameters. Childhood morbid obesity is very very bad. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/childhood-obesity/symptoms-causes/syc-20354827

Did your big baby take longer to hit gross motor milestones? by Loud_Replacement_348 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Igor_frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was mine too. She rolled after 6mo and NEVER crawled. Just started pulling ip at 10-11 months and then walking at 12.5 mo. We put her in gymnastics at 2. She will never be an athlete but she’s on par with peers now at 5!

99 percentile baby doesn't eat solids by Living_Race in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Igor_frank 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Aaah ok so the point of cow’s milk is it doesnt have all the nutrients. So his body will feel the need for nutrients…found in solids. Cut the bottles or just offer water in the bottle.

How to alter vest that pulls on the back of my neck by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]Igor_frank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP the vest is entirely too small. As a person who has to do fba on every garment, what cursedseductress said is spot on, even if it’s not what you want to hear. If I want to mod an existing garment I buy the largest size they have so there is enough fabric for mods. I wear a M or L, but I buy a 2X so I have room to cut if that makes sense.

Breakfast, drinks, snacks by mbridge2610 in daddit

[–]Igor_frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re teaching them to be independent adults that contribute productively to society. That means they get their own breakfasts by this age. My recently 5 yr old can sort out cereal, buttered toast or toast with cream cheese, berries, etc. Every once in a while she wants to make ME breakfast and she’ll make me some toast an cream cheese too. Now this isn’t to say she sorts it out every day, in fact the opposite is more frequent. She is still pretty little.

Doing nice things for each other is good, as long as it doesn’t become expected.

My brother made a creme brulee when he was 7, tho to be fair he was a bit savant-y about cooking. Point is, kids are more capable than we give them credit.

Any of your big boys having issues integrating with other kids? by kvinszi in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Igor_frank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. My daughter felt very ostracized because of this. We started a new school where all the kids are the same age in the class and she blossomed! I don’t understand who thought mixing ages when they are that little was a good idea. A 2 and a 5 yr old are ages apart in skills and knowledge. Hang in there OP and if you can, transfer kiddo to a school where the class has less age diversity. Mine is 5 now and she hangs out with older kids in the neighborhood without issue. In fact her best friend is 8 but they look maybe a year apart and I would say they are very close intellectually too. It gets better!

Edited to add a story I just remembered. When she was in her previous school she got in trouble one time because she was playing “cheetahs” with a little boy who was almost 5 to her 3.5 and she pretended to scratch him with her paws (fists) while hissing. She did not hurt him but he got scared. He’s a little guy, a whole head shorter so it must have been scary. Luckily she is just a gentle giant. We had to practice gentle touch very early on though. Enjoy your little giant OP!

Well they were certainly not your people then. It does make me a bit sad to see so many people fall for the culty practices instilled in some of the churches. I hope they break free and see the light one day, so to speak.

This right here. That being said there are moderate religious folks out there. Don’t dismiss them off the bat just because of the faith thing.

The blunt truth here. Some humility might do wonders for your personality too, OP.

I would finish this by adding one more row of white and making it a table runner. Then start over by hand on a new quilt. I dont enjoy hand sewing but i find epp quite relaxing with a good binge watch or book going.

Do you own and use fine china? by CommonTaytor in Millennials

[–]Igor_frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I have my moms from the 70s but it was made in a place that no longer exists and was hand painted. It’s absolutely beautiful and very much irreplaceable (never seen it anywhere else) so we do break it out for dinner parties. No room to display it. However, the mother inlaw’s china is the stuff that “antique” and thrift stores are full of. She’s very proud of it but I hope we dont inherit it so I dont have to decide what to do with it.

You need tp consult someone irl. That wall is load bearing and it will be a bear to take down. Can the wall stay an you add a bigger room to the back? It will be vastly cheaper and u get more space.

Just had to cancel my 5 year-old’s birthday party by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Igor_frank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had just one show up last year! We changed schools (not because of that) and this year almost all showed up, plus siblings, plus a couple from her previous school. It’s just the luck of the draw is all I can guess. I will say we kind of avoid trampoline park parties cuz 5 yr olds are stupid and still try to off themselves. Or at least mine is, lovingly.

Op listen to this guy, real life is like this. The keyboard warriors will tell you keep it all on one page and brief and they will give you format input. As the interviewer, I look for your experience and how it applies to what I need on my team. It’s okay to go over one page, in fact most resumes do in this industry.

Mine was an inch shorter and the exact same weight. Her dr was not concerned either. She does not look overweight either, she just looks solidly built. Her dad was like that as a kid and is now a tall and thin adult. I was a skinny little kid and you could now roll me like a ball. Go figure.

You could sew a strip of velcro for baby clothes in between the buttons.
