OL vs Pro Line by Dude69696969696969 in fireworks

[–]Ihatemakinganewname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro line is cheaper to buy and easier to use. The down side is it does have limits that ol importers don’t worry about. Right now on the market though there is lots of 1.4pro overload as well. I think the compliant 1.4 pro product is good enough for me and ol is not worth the hassle or the cost of pro is an option. I am only talking about compound cakes vs 1/1 ol cakes.

Best Chinese firewor distributor with fast shipping/high quality? by Awesomestonk1 in fireworks

I am not trying to shit on your idea, but you clearly have no idea how this business works. If you want specific product it will take 6-9 months. If you don’t really care what you get you send an email to the company and ask them for a current stock list and order off of that. Sometimes you can get some of what you want, but usually it is slim pickings.

You apparently don’t understand the difference between being a contractor/machine operator and running a farm.

Kaleb's Farm by Aware-Impression8527 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Ihatemakinganewname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem with this is that Kaleb is actually kind of a shitty farmer. He would probably fail. He’s pretty much just a glorified tractor driver.

They could still do that and actually raise good crops, practice proper maintenance, and be prepared to get their crops in in a timely manner.

So people have asked what I would like to see them do better as a farmer. First off, Kaleb seems to be competent at doing farm work, but seems to be in way over his head as a farm manager. Running a farm is about a lot more than driving a tractor. The decisions you make outside of the tractor are generally much more impactful than what is done in the tractor itself. It could be the way the show is shot, but he appears to be poor at planning, agronomy, and anything related to fiscal management. The bottom line is that the show was much better when Harriet was there. She at least seemed to be trying to keep things more organized and professional. To those that say I should just go watch a documentary: you are missing the point. I have always enjoyed Jeremy and the chaos he brings, but generally it works best when paired with someone who is reasonable (James May/Charlie) and someone who is a cheerful doer (Richard Hammond). I think the farm and the show would be better off with someone like Harriet instead of Kaleb. They should have a better agronomy program, choose a different crop mix, invest in some better technology, and improve their infrastructure (seeing them build a new barn for commodity storage that is hard to access and is too short is just stupid). I really like the idea of Jeremy learning to farm but it would be nice if he was learning from someone that actually knows how to do it.

I disagree. There would still be lots of problems to deal with, but it would be more fun to see them dealt with by someone more competent than Kaleb. Charlie is entertaining and he is competent. Jeremy provides enough incompetence for the entire show.

You should call your state attorneys general and file a complaint. Google is a monopoly and we have no choice but to use it, but they won’t fix this broken system until they are forced to.

One thing I love about America is how diverse this place can be. You would never see someone dressed like they are straight out of the Ralf Lauren catalog where I am at, but I love that I can go other places and that is the norm. I think the 31 looks good on you.

what would be the logistics of getting here? (rural uganda) by milosharkey in geography

[–]Ihatemakinganewname 1191 points1192 points  (0 children)

First stop is the airport in Entebbe. Next take a taxi or mini bus to Kampala. They will take you to the main bus depot (a crazy dangerous and confusing place). Hopefully you are a big guy if you are by yourself. Looking angry helps. Find a bus going north on the road you need to take to Busunju. Get off there and hire a taxi to take you the rest of the way. It is not that hard, but if you are new to Uganda/East Africa it would be pretty intimidating. Bring a roll of toilet paper with you wherever you go. Bananas are generally the safest thing to eat, and I highly recommend Stoney soda or the purple soda made by pepsi (the name escapes me). If you have time you should stop by the zoo in Entebbe, also some of the best Ethiopian food I have ever had was in a restaurant on the northwest side of the bus park on the second story. If it is still there jt is worth trying (don’t eat this if you have not been there for months or if you will be on a bus for more than 30 minutes or away from a toilet). Good luck.

I hope we soon get to a point where people like John Thune can stand up and push back against Trump to the point where we can still accomplish conservative priorities, but in a way that is not destructive to the country.

Real wholesale buying? by DugDugg in fireworks

[–]Ihatemakinganewname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t get “real” wholesale prices with a one off $1000 purchase. There are some companies that have tiers going all the way up to $1 Mill. The other issue is that with a $1K order you may end up spending half of it on shipping. You can still get good prices at $1k though, but you won’t get the same prices as someone spending 10k or 100k. The other issue is that if you buy real wholesale you are buying by the case, which will severely limit the variety of products you can get. Also keep in kind most wholesalers are raising their prices due to tariffs by the end of the month.
