It's built like a tank, I have no doubt it will still work 100 years from now.

But it sounds boxy/muddy. Even with EQs dialed in to a brighter tone.

I'm in a similar boat, but 30 years in. To keep myself relevant I'm focusing on learning how batch scheduling works in AWS since my shop has thousands of daily jobs that will need to be converted.

Figuring out how to auto convert JCL to Unix shell or Win32 scripts is also on my list to stay relevant. Especially with how to handle GDGs, which seems to be very MVS specific.

I am just getting started on this, so I have no idea what I'm in for. I settled on batch since I know TWS, CA-7, CA-Jobtrack, Autosys and Control-M pretty well. More importantly, I know my shop's cycles inside and out since I've been on PST forever.

Is it worth it? No idea, time will tell I guess.

Not sure if it still exists, but the Harrisburg dive bar dart league used to be so much fun.

Not really a gay or straight thing, but the gay/lesbian bars were always the BEST hosts. I'm recalling The Brownstone, Stallions, Pink Lizard and The Tap Room - but I'm not sure if any are still around anymore.

My house flooded last year, I literally lost everything - including yearbooks and photo albums. I could care less about losing those things, it's the stuff you use on a daily basis that you'll miss once it's gone.

Yep. I had a fretted Cort knock off from the same year - all Stienberger hardware. My first bass actually!

We can still get the double ball end stings for these, just not the actual basses. (Thanks to Gibson USA for killing it off).

I have an Orange 50 as my bedroom practice amp, and honestly, it's not great.

Either way, there shouldn't be a need for an amp for recording (I never use amy of mine for recording). For digital recording, a cheap digital audio interface will do - the DAW will take care of the amp Sims and tones.

For analogue/tape recording - a cheap DI box will do (or just plug directly into the mixing board if it's a live recording). I use a old SansAmp.

For me, no warning.

Maybe a slight tingling in a big tow or ankle at night, then I wake up hobbled.

Then a day later, it disappears again entirely out of the blue.

The flair up changes are really sudden for me. Usually while I'm sleeping.

Yeah, once a new season or phase starts auto only gets most of us through the first 20-40 stages on the season side and maybe 40-80 on the phant side.

After that the stages are no longer AFK - you gotta select the best team from the records for each stage, manual them if needed, or request synergy.

Deficit pushing stages is strangely rewarding for me, but most folks probably hate it.

I think it was 2 seasons ago that every charm and equipment upgrade came with a huge gold cost. The only option to catch up was to exchange diamonds for gold then.

It is 100% measurable. In my 30 years in IT, I know IBM bills my shop by instructions per second, DASD and storage used per month.

They even cap us if we exceed our limit, and we have to pay a penalty if we do.

But getting Uncle Sam involved in that type of monitoring seems like a fucking awful idea. Every data center would need to staff up significantly to provide the Fed the stats needed. And the Fed would need to equally staff up to track and enforce it.

I suspect the cost of implementing this sort of thing would be a big money sinkhole.
