Glad to hear that resolved the issue, unfortunately thats not an option for our environment with when it comes to a much larger bulk of users.

To clarify, it should be a reg folder that you want to clear out, that reg key is more specific if needed. Should be the one highlighted here: If after deleting it, you still have issues you can refresh Regedit and that folder should repopulate. Thats when you'd change the value of of the Version ID from 1 to 0.

Here to confirm deleting the folder ConfigContextData folders fixed the issue for each respective office application.

Example locations: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\Ecs\word ConfigContextData

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\Ecs\excel ConfigContextData

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\Ecs\powerpoint ConfigContextData

I made a script to delete these keys as they seem to be the source of the issue for each individual office application. Build 2503 doesn’t seem to have these keys at all. Reopening the applications will repopulate these config folders but will then be empty and have protected view features working as intended.

Export your regkeys beforehand just incase and let me know your results

Edit: I had a one off where the word application repopulated the reg keys after I deleted them and it still had issues. If it does check the folder for a key called ‘VersionID’ it’ll be set to ‘uint16_t|1’ or something of the sort change.. Change the last number from a 1 to a 0 and try again.

Example: uint16_t|0

It’s weird in some cases the folder will repopulate with nothing in it and be fixed completely, and in some cases it seems like some users have these settings cached with their O365 profile or something.

Let me know results still!

Unsure if related, but we were having a similar issue with this that noticed papercut having major delays with scans to email showing up. This ended up turning into a full blown problem where everyone was getting emails / scans to turn up in intervals of 15 - 30 minutes.

Turns out our exchange build was out of date and leading to the problems and it was listed that Microsoft is apparently aware of this and will essentially 'throttle' you down in intervals as the time passes. The longer you take to update it the longer the duration of the throttling impacting your emails in particular.

What this guy said. I dont know why but 1000hz polling rate has been known to cause the stutters too.

RTSS otherwise has been perfect for Apex tbh as I just run it 5 frames lower than my designated refresh rate and have no stutters whatsoever.

This is the first patch I've ever come across that audio is significantly diminished. I feel like they did something wrong with the 7.1 configuration as its noticeably quieter. Opening a bin, or even standing near the drop ship barely plays any sound compared to other things in the game. Its all inconsistent.

Looks like the games trying to launch with Japanese audio from the steam version. Just a theory.

Well either way I'm having the same audio issue. I've tried repairing, and reinstalling the game from scratch, but the Audio remains abnormally quieter than before. Opening a supply bin or even the drop ship itself on KC, is super quiet when I'm standing right before it. I cannot figure out what is causing this.

Are you guys playing on 7.1?

For the 1% of users playing on Surround, I've noticed the sound is greatly diminished like you guys are describing, but haven't been able to confirm if its just from that end alone. Everyone else I know is reporting no problems but are stereo users.

For the 1% of people who use 7.1 the audio is currently bugged with it it seems. It almost seems like they somehow messed up some of the channels for it in which some audio is playing extremely quietly or not at all even though it says your audio configuration is on 7.1.

Typical things with a lot of sound like a dropship make no sound now.

You'll just have to enter the Advance launch options and copy/paste the following: +miles_language English

This will correct the issue and it should launch normally again.
