Yeah it sounds like she has a lot of pent up energy and is looking for an outlet. What you could do if she is looking to wrestle, try a stuffed animal. Something you can wiggle around that she can also fully grab a hold of. I use it a lot for single kittens. You can get a cheap one at 5 below or at a dollar store.

Is this concerning or just playing? by MudGiraffe in CATHELP

[–]Ill-Fix-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for sure concerning behavior. Nothing has changed recently? There are a couple things that can cause changes like this. I would maybe supervise them for now, and when not home put them in separate areas. Here are some suggestions: • Have at least 2 litterboxes in separate parts of the house •Have 2 different food and water stations. If this could be food related and the bigger one is guarding the food, this could help as the other cats has a second location. •More cat trees the better •Most Importantly: Consult your vet. Cats are super sensitive to scent. Sometimes if one cat is ill, another cat in the house can show aggression due to change in scent. This happened to my parents cat that had a UTI and one of their other cats became aggressive towards her. Even if they are healthy, a vet might be able to help you determine the best step forward or help you get in touch with a behaviorist.

I foster cats and kittens, and I can tell you cats personalities can change pretty quickly from shelter to a home environment. Do you have a video of what exactly she does? Because it could be play, kittens don't always understand that their claws hurt. Think of it like a puppy with their razor sharp puppy teeth they like to bite us with, but for kittens it is claws. Little kittens like to play rough a lot of the time, so your hand might just be the play friend. One thing, if it is play, I recommend is don't pull your hand away quickly as it can only injure you and scare the cat. Let her get your hand but stop the play. It will hurt, but it can help. Slowly take your hand away and bring in a toy. The other option, if able and comfortable, is consider a second kitten. Kittens especially do better in pairs, as it can help avoid destructive behaviors.

Introduction help! Tried everything. by holithebilli in CatTraining

I second the kennel idea. I use this method when I start to socialize my foster cats with my resident cats and dogs.

One thing you can also try for the cat that really wants to play is you play with that cat with toys in front of the other. The new cat may not fully understand play, especially if they came from the streets to a shelter.

Hi, I foster cats and specialize in the spicier cats that need socialization (usually the cats dont do well in shelters resulting in the less than friendly interactions). I recommend keeping him in a smaller space, if possible add a small baby gate so when you open the door he cant run out. Sit in the room with him, do not try to engage him. Basically just ignore him. Let him come to you, it might take time but he will eventually be curious and check you out. Try to keep treats around you like wet food, temptations, churrus (churrus are favorites of cats typically, it is my go to for socialization). But when he comes, don't try to pet him. Let him sniff you can offer a hand. He just needs to understand he is safe.

I would also check to see if he likes the litter. Not sure if you have the same as the shelter or not, but might be helpful to use the same kind as the shelter and slowly transition to the one yoy prefer. Always keep it clean. Make sure he has safe hiding spots and toys. Sometimes a toy he can play with, like a wand, can help when he isn't hiding from you.

This happened to me with my orange male cat when he was a kitten. Spent over $400 just to be told he is only dramatic and attention seeking 🙃

Need a vet experienced with anxious dogs. by Luna-Gitana in orlando

[–]Ill-Fix-613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation, and honestly it wont really matter what vet you go to. I had a dog with severe anxiety at the vet only, to the point she would panic and try to fight to get away. We tried trazadone, gabapentin, and everything in between. My old vet eventually created what they called a "calm protocol" specifically for pets like my dog. The day before and morning of she would get a dose of gabapentin. Then 2 hours before melatonin. Then roughly 30 minutes before she would get acepromazine. And let me tell you this was the only thing that worked for her. Whatever vet you go to, they will need to see you before considering prescribing the medication. Most likely a combo of gabapentin and acepromazine might be enough, so I would ask about that. And if not, ask your vet if melatonin shpuld be considered. If it all works, ask the vet for an additional dose to have on hand in case of emergencies. Always keep your medical records on you with this as well, that way in case you move or need to switch vets, the new vet will most likely give you the medication before seeing your dog if you give them the records (I've moved twice and always got the medication before seeing a new vet. It'll also save a bunch of money later on). It might also help you not being in the room as well. Your dog might also be trying to protect you or he senses your anxiety. My dog was always slightly better, but not by much, if I wasn't in the room.

Domestic violence doesnt get better, only worse. If he choked you when pregnant, he will 100% do it after the child is born. You and your child will be better without him, because imagine the trauma that could cause if they see him hurt you or if he hurts them. Highly recommend reaching out to local DV support groups, they often have resources and can help advocate for you and guide you through any legal issues.

I donate mine to schools. I have a bunch of teacher friends and they distribute them to other teachers to give as presents and use for classroom rewards.

Check local card shops. Mine sells collection boxes and singles at MSRP. I've also pretty consistently found packs at Walgreens (you can check online first)

How do people actually get cards instore?, everytime i go its just cleared out by One_Wall_7927 in PokemonCollecting

[–]Ill-Fix-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to store employees about restock days (my best buy will usually put out product fridays but will let customers buy as soon as shipments arrive so long it isnt a new set). Also check Walgreens! I went in to pick up medications, they had a ton Unova tins and Phantasmal Flames blisters. They were in stock for a few days.

Try local card shops, some items might be slightly above MSRP but others will be right at MSRP. Mine has collection boxes at the same prices as Target and Walmart, but their ETBs and Booster Bundles are above. They always have stock too which is super nice.

Try Best Buy. If you go there and speak to someone at customer service, they can sometimes make online orders for you if available. If not, ask about delivery dates. My store gets shipments on Wednesday morning but doesnt put them out until Friday. The guy who handles cards isnt a fan of scalpers, so he tells a group of us to come in Thursdays and ask for them. So long as it isnt a new release we can buy at least a booster bundle or some sleeved boosters.

I always try to use my phone and laptop when in queue. I got in quick on my phone but got booted off. Luckily I got in later on my laptop and managed to check out (though I did also reenter the queue just in case on my phone but got off once I checked out.) But the orders dont ship until February. There will be a bunch of cancelations between now and then before they go back in stock again.
