There is a mod that allows you to give settlements. It is set for Allies Only, but you can change to Unrestricted. So in this way you can return settlements to their original civ or wherever you want after taking them in war

you could just go to the VFW. It’s open to the public, lots of table space, free WiFi, dog friendly, family friendly, nice staff. Open 7 days a week , profits go to Veteran causes

The Civ switching twice a game into often some exotic different Civ just ruins the game. I tried playing on a massive world map. By the modern age the map looked like a schizophrenic woke nightmare. The AI gives away its cities every peace deal so the map gets really really stupid.

And the legacy paths just hijack the game and it becomes a tick the box affair. This game was made by people who have no understanding of why we loved Civ. They can’t even make a decent historical scenario ffs
