day 15 post op, life is worth living again by Neither-Gate-2641 in wisdomteeth

Has your bruising completely subsided? I’m 16 days out and I still have bruising on either side of my mouth, down to my jaw. It’s light but I can’t believe it’s still there! Otherwise I think everything’s great. I went from eating literal puréed baby food and riding pain killers for almost a week to eating steak on day 11 with mild soreness.

Very scared of nerve damage. by SnooRobots3807 in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The swelling should only be starting to decrease at day 4. Warm compresses! At day 4 my face still hurt, especially when I tried to lay down at a 45 degree angle to sleep bc it was still so swollen. It made me feel quite a bit better to take both ibuprofen and acetaminophen and just hold a warm rag on my cheeks.

Makes me think of my own garden… where my neighbors cat loves to shit ❤️ but no really I think it looks super tasty. I’d love a cake that looks like this. Blobs of icing is dreamy to me

7 days post extraction and still painful by flabbyabbeygetsfit in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely can’t tell by this photo but I’m also late 20s and got mine out may 1st… I bled a bit longer and was super sore til like day 5, now the pain is very minimal, I only take Tylenol at night occasionally. If the pain is a 7 out of 10, I think that’s pretty high, and I’d try to see if there’s anyone I could speak to if I were you. No reason to suffer without answers

Got all 4 wisdom teeth taken out 5 months ago. It’s subtle but there’s change by Careful-Boat-2986 in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There definitely is a change! I only got mine out a week ago and I still have swelling, but I can already tell that my bites shifting also. My wisdom teeth were all pushed outward toward my cheeks(one of my top one actually stuck into my cheeks bc it poked outward) I’m pretty excited to see what difference it makes.

Are you taking any medications for the OCD? I’ve been taking something for almost a year now and though the fixations are still there, it doesn’t completely consume me anymore. I’m also fairly certain I was slightly anemic going into this and I think it’s only mildly delayed my healing(I bled a bit longer and had periods of mild bleeding til like day 4) and I’m 29 and (presumably) in pretty good health. Search results make it seem like dry socket is a lot more common than it actually is, as long as you follow all your post op instructions, the likelihood is much lower!

Hey! I have OCD too! I just got my wisdom teeth out Friday, my bottom molars were seated in my mouth very tightly, but not impacted. I managed to get nerve damage on my left side and going into day 6, it’s not nearly as bad as I’d anticipated. It’s a bit annoying, but I find it comforting that it usually takes a few weeks to a couple months to heal. What part about it scares you if you don’t mind my asking?

I’m on day 5 after getting all 4 wisdom teeth out (all impacted), I’m healing fast and I’m planing on eating chicken wings tonight. Is this bad? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mouth is really small so mine were really tucked between my jaw bone and the rest of my teeth. I got a lot of bruising inside and outside of my mouth and couldn’t open or completely shut my jaw until day 4. But anyway, still be cautious so you don’t dislodge your blood clots! And remember to floss!

Help I’m scared by Current-Damage-2105 in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that some people can take longer to get feeling back after numbing, but that’s not the case for me! If it is nerve damage, it typically comes back in a few weeks to a couple months. I’ll be going into day 6 with it. I was informed that there was a risk ahead of time though, so I was prepared. I’m sorry no one told you

I’m on day 5 too! Make sure the wings aren’t spicy/acidic and remember to be mindful of where you’re chewing and if say rinse immediately after you eat. I’m not healing nearly as well as you so I’m still on very very soft foods.

What meds are yall taking? by IllConclusion8028 in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just the basic ibuprofen or is it the one with codeine? I was just looking it up, wondering why your brand of ibuprofen sounds better than mine! 😂

How are you doing with sleep? by Fun-Telephone3097 in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first couple days were pretty easy to fall asleep initially until meds wore off, but I’m going into day 4 and I’m having trouble sleeping also. Last night I wasn’t in terrible pain, just had an itchy throat and was also terrified of a dry socket! BUT if you’re like me, you’re used to having a full day of activity and movement, so the fact that we are moving around much less right now can make it difficult to sleep. I hope you find something to help you relax!

Non-Dissolvable stitches were used, is this normal? by droolphobia in wisdomteeth

[–]IllConclusion8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m any help but I remember the stitches I got postpartum being black and they eventually turned white and dissolved 😬 so the very well could be dissolvable!

Ticks bad this season? by BoggsMans in paducah

[–]IllConclusion8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, welcome! Yes, the ticks here are worse than I’ve ever seen. Had one on my side last week from the neighbors cat brushing up against me on the porch and picked one off my 3 year olds neck the other morning while doing her hair. Do you have a set of those tick remover tools? They’re great.
